Lenovo M92p TINY 3238 lost ability to boot after BIOS update

    Hello!
yesterday I received from eBay a Lenovo M92p TINY model 3238 system with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB mechanical HDD.
I tested it and it worked fine, it booted to a fresh Win10 x64 French OS .
The plan was to replace the mechanical HDD with an SDD one and upgrade RAM to the max 16GB since I had 2x 8GB SODIMM modules.

I noticed that there was an update on the Lenovo support site so I thought I'd do that first and then proceed with the upgrades and installation of new OS.
The windows BIOS update completed successfully and the system booted to a bios-like screen and continued the update. On 100% the system tried to reboot but this was not successful, it just looked frozen. After 10mins I power-cycled the system. But I have lost the ability to boot *any* kind of media. I have done several CMOS resets, BIOS defaults, tried various combos of secure boot options but nothing helped.

With the previously working HDD the system freezes on the LENOVO boot screen.
With a UEFI bootable USB stick the system just black screens and I can see mouse pointer that I can move at 10fps or something.
With a MBR bootable USB or a win10 DVD install disk stick I get a blinking underscore without any media access.
Same blinking underscore with the Lenovo "Bootable CD for BIOS flashing" , the emergency recovery procedure explained in the hardware manual also does not work.

What I can do it enter BIOS, call up boot selection menu or even enter the Intel ME "bios" with CTRL+P. But other than that nothing can boot on the system be it windows or dos or even linux.
The system does not even try to access the drives to boot from.

I am all out of ideas so I just desoldered the 3 bios chips on the mobo in hopes some kind soul can provide me with fixed binaries like I've seen in the other M92p thread.

U52 is probably not needed since it is related to the ITE chip next to it but I already desoldered it so the dump is in the ZIP archive.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help or tips regarding this!

Use this bios, flash both 2 and 8MB https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...45&postcount=6 .Take a note of your win 10 key before you install from scratch again https://www.softpedia.com/get/System...ProduKey.shtml

sorry I did not update this thread but the issue is already resolved in another forum I asked for help, it was indeed the 8MB ME bios that was very corrupted

The 2mb and 1mb I posted are perfectly fine btw

System is already up and running again!

Re: Lenovo M92p TINY 3238 lost ability to boot after BIOS update

          Hi,
Sorry for posting on a semi-closed forum but I have a problem with the same hardware...

I have a Lenovo M92P Tiny 3238 BR3 and the same happened... When I was installing the drivers appearently one was a BIOS update and it failed. After i reboot it.... Well let's just say that it was his last reboot sucessfull...

When I boot I can hear 2 beeps, according to documentation it appears to be a CMOS problem.

I have tried to create a USB with the files needed to re-flash the bios and it accually boots to the bios update screen and it completes the update but, as soon as it boots again, it gives the same error. You can breafly enter bios setting only to see that the UID is all FFFFFF-FFFFFFF-FFFFFF (or something like that). I have purchased the CH341A chip programmer with prongs in order to try to reflash the firmware with the ones mentioned above but, when using the software that came, it detects chips that are bigger than the ones mentioned... Should I have purchased a different programmer? Can I solve this with a Database.dat that includes theese files? Should I just give up on this and use it as a paper weight?

Try different software, NeoProgrammer is good https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...50&postcount=5 .Select the chips manually from the list, the part number on top of the bios chips will be different.Make 2 backups of each chip ,check that there is some code in the backups using HxD hex editor https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ ,you don`t want to see all FF`s.The clips are quite crap ,make sure you have good contact on the pins. Post both of your backups here in this thread and someone will help you.

Re: Lenovo M92p TINY 3238 lost ability to boot after BIOS update

I have made some reads of the chips and i'm posting them there. When it comes to the "U52" chip, i was unable to read it and the usb programmer kept going into short circuit mode. I have made dozens of ajustments to the programmer and made sure (on the side) that it was sitted properly. I have reasons to believe that the chip might be shorted...
I am including the pics of the chips as well as the .bin from U1 and U6.

If this chip happens to be dead, where do you advice me to purchase another? (Europe)

Is the bios code compatible with my 3229? Which file should I download?

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
                      by privato89
                      Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

                      Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Xiaomi router freezes at boot after re-capping
                      by hinisa
I'm using Xiaomi Router 4A gigabit edition as wireless repeater. It worked fine for 2 years or so, but last week, wireless started to disappear.

When I unplug/replug the power, it was working fine for a day/half a day or so until it freezes again.

After testing with different power supply adapters and concluding it wasn't the issue I finally opened the case and this was the situation:

Anyway I proceed to clean up the mess and replace all caps but unfortunately it made the situation worse. Now router can't even boot, either it freezes during...

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
                      by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
                      cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...
