clear the CMOS using the jumper.Put it on 1+2 start up and leave it for a minute,then press the start button for 10 seconds to shut down.Put the jumper back on 2+3 and start up. You can find where the clear CMOS jumper is in the hardware maintenance manual, page 76

guys for you re info , dont upgrade lenovo bios if it s not necesary , i upgrade my m82 to latest bios , because why not and i cant boot from anything (ssd/hdd , usb storage , cd , other ways) , even i change everything on bios legacy and efi eather..leave the lenovo be or dont buy it , later!
P.S.: I will try you re bios posted above , mabye i will be lucky

Am I correct to assume that I can just load the EC file into a hex editor and replace the MAC address which are located at file offset 0x1000 and 0x2000 with the MAC address from my board?
The same goes with replacing the serial number, product number and product name in the BIOS file?
I brought mine back to life with a BIOS + EC that I got from Lab-One Inside forum when I searched for IS7XM V1.00 BIOS but because of the MAC address is different, onboard ethernet doesn't work. The only way i know that works is to follow this steps. First make from another computer a laptop a bootable usb or cd with the BIOS update and remove the power corde from the computer with the problem.Step 2 open the PC and remove the CMOS battery.Third put the jumper on CMOS reset pin 1 and two.Insert bootable USB and leave it to flash the BIOS and when it reaches 100 % will shut down. Step 4 remove power cord, insert CMOS battery and move the reset pin jumper back to position 2 and 3.Now just restart and all will work.Comment

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

I need a BIOS dump for ThinkCentre M910 Tiny.
The BIOS chip is : Winbond 25Q128JV
Board : IQ2X0IH ver 1.0
I was using a chip clip with my xgecu pro which led to a corrupt BIOS dump, and the BIOS chip was since re-flashed with the donor BIOS from this thread:

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
