Hello,
I'm currently dealing with a BIOS corruption issue on my HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF desktop PC.
After the BIOS got corrupted, my PC was showing no display, and I had to take it to a repair shop where the technician removed the BIOS chip from the motherboard and installed a BIOS I provided from a file I downloaded from the official HP website.
While the display issue was fixed and the system is powering up again, there's one major problem: the Ethernet MAC address is now showing as FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF, indicating that it's been wiped or corrupted as well.
I downloaded the latest BIOS update from HP's support website, using my PC's serial number to get the correct update file.
I extracted the BIOS bin file from the downloaded .exe using 7-Zip and gave it to the technician.
The technician flashed the BIOS, and while the system is working again, the MAC address is gone, showing the default FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF.
The technician mentioned that the BIOS file I gave him was an update file, not a BIOS dump, and that this might be the reason why the MAC address is missing.
PC : HP ProDesk 600 G1 Small Form Factor PC
PC Serial : 2UA5122MMV
PC Product ID : G5R58UT#ABA
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
