Burned ferrite bead RTX 2080 LB617

have purchased an RTX 2080 which contains a scorched component. I have carefully removed it with a heat station. The card is not short and it works, but it is seen with artifacts.

The problem is that I cannot find the characteristics of the component anywhere. I am going to attach a photo in case someone has the same graphics card and can measure the component or if someone knows which one I have to buy. I would really appreciate it

First thing -those ferrite beads look like capacitors to me

Second thing they seem to be connected near the 12V 6/8 way connector (can you confirm one end of them goes to ground and the other end goes to 12V?)

If that is the case just remove them - they will be nothing to do with artifacting that will be caused by some other problem - try testing the Vram for faults. If you find any it could be faulty RAM, faulty GPU memory controller or faulty voltage supply to either

This video explains how to test the Vram, all you need is a hard drive 80Gb or more - then post the results here

They are ferrite beads. They are labeled LB617 and LB618.

Hard to say if they are the cause of the artifcating. Remove them, clean up the boards, check if traces are damaged. You can start by just replacing them with 0-ohm jumpers and see if that fixes it. I can't tell what package size those are, maybe 0603?

If the ferrite beads are in fact needed for proper function (and not just as EMI mitigation) you can start with a chip bead with Z = 10 - 50 ohms @ 100MHz, and go up from there, swapping out beads until it works (maybe).

I have recently removed this ferrite beads from the board and the GPU is working with the same artiffacts, which makes me believe that they might work as fuses.

It could be that the due to the ferrite beads being burned or not present on the board the 12V rail might not be closed therefore underpowering the board.

I think that the dimensions of the ferrite bead are between 2mmx1mm and 1.6mmx0.8mm

          3090 FE Part Confirm/Identification
          by H H
          Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.

Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.

The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.

I have identified the parts as the following:

          C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05

          R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

          LB10911: Ferrite Bead (0402)...

          Repairing RX460 , VRM?
          by 90Ninety
          Hi guys

In my spare time to upskill myself I buy joblots if stuff to fix , or attempt fixing and get some experience

I have a r460 that I wanted to fix and give to my nephew
As shown there is a burned ferrite bead, next to a high/ low side VRM pair on the back side of the card

I'm gonna try replacing these pair of VRMs. I wondered how hard they are to remove
I have a decent sequire solder iron and hot air, though may need to get a hot plate.. Seems these VRMs have big contact plates and could be welded

          Also seemingly...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
          by mikey5791
          Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...
