    EVGA 560ti GPU Artifacting

Ran a mats GPU memory test (attached) on this GPU (EVGA 560ti).

Not sure which modules are experiencing the write errors...Guessing M1 and M4 but not sure. Bad arifacting and showing error (properly identified) in device manager.

    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Don't take my words for it, but according to how most people map it, your faulty chips should be the two ones right below the two silver/blue capacitors. Almost every day on the internet you see new cases of these Fermi based graphics cards developing artifacts. Not so long ago my GTX 580 developed artifacts too, it had hynix memory as well. I have another GTX 580 with Samsung memory, that one is still fine. Would be great if you upload a picture of how those artifacts look. Does your PC crash and restart when you try to boot into Windows normally or when you try to install the Nvidia driver and only works in safe mode?

Are you getting an error from an application about failing to initialize Direct3D or similar, while in the middle of a game and then the game terminates? That's classic of the GPU core not being stable.

        Hello,
I need help identyfing what is broken on this GPU - GPU core or VRAM. Let's start with what I did and know so far:
        - disassembled, added missing SMD capacitors from same GPU
-(If anybody knows what Q518 is and would share this information I would be very grateful)
        - artifacts during Windows booting are blue vertical stripes, I can take a photo if that would help
        - artifacts in Windows are yellow-ish horizontal lines
        - in BIOS/ text on black screen text gets extremely garbled
        - GPU-Z doesn't show GPU or VRAM frequency
        - GPU error 43...

Each GPU reballing produces different MATS results, looking for root cause ?
        by DynaxSC
        Hi,

I have an Nvidia card which makes me wondering, what is the root cause for Mats errors. The story is as follows:

        1. When I received the card Mats showed one memory with errors.

        2. Replaced the memory chip, but no change, still same error, so memory chip is ruled out.

        3. Made a carefull reballing of the GPU, MATS showed 3 memories with errors, the one before, and 2 other new chips.

        4. Made a second reballing of the GPU and Mats shows again only one memory chip with errors, the same on as in the beginning.

        5. Made...

        r9 290 "black screen"
        by Francesco Valsecchi
hello i bought a faulty radeon r9 290 (black screen) to learn to fix gpu's, when it arrived i mesured resistances on 3.3 v and 12v both on the pcie connector and cables i have no idea on how to recognize 1.8v pex and 5v but i checked all inductors and none had a dead short only one was 55 or 140 ohms i don't really remember and i assumed it was memory i installed it on the pc and it delivered no image, not even a backlight so i installed it as a secondary graphics card using the igpu as primary, both device manager and gpu-z only showed the igpu so i assumed it was acutally a no detect even tough...

Nvidia MATS help please - 33 errors on two cards?
        by chappers
        Hi,

I'm new to MATS and can only use it after watching a Youtube video, downloading the one he linked to (version 400.184) and running it without changing anything. I have no great understanding of it.

I have 3 graphics cards in the house.

My son's - Palit GTX 1080 used for 3D games constantly.
Mine - Nvidia GTX 1080 not used for 3D games, just basic stuff.
Inno3D RTX 2080 I bought faulty hoping to repair for my son's PC.

Running MATS on my son's GTX 1080 gives a pass with no errors.
Running MATS on my GTX 1080 gives...

Corsair HX1200 connected w EVGA molex cable, 12V pin back feeded to 5V. Anybody has experience in this damages repair?
        by coinwizx
The power supply is 2020 Corsair HX1200 modular power supply.

Cause of damage: I connected EVGA molex cable to the Sata port and test it with a ATX tester. Since the pin out on the EVGA is wrong, result in the 12V pin shorted to the 5V pin, in the 12V back-feeded to the 5v port.

Damage: Power supply shorted out, shut off itself internally, damaged the 5v or 3v rail or the monitoring circuitry. The self protection circuit shut off the power supply when power up because it detected some abnormal/defect. I waited a few minutes, let it self reset then try to re power up....
