    Ms-7529 v1.1 (g31m3 v2)

    Hello guys,

i'm tryng to fix this motherboard.

I located and replaced one bad n channel mosfet (short between drain and source and between gate and source) located on the cpu power rail (12 v atx, cpu side ) and two capacitors that were in bad shape. Before the replacement, 12v atx on cpu side was not shorted, bad the mosfet was. The capacitors removed were 4v 680 microfarad. The replacement caps are instead 6,3 v 820 microfarad.

Before the replacement voltage on gate of high and low side mosfet was 0. Now i have 10 v on gate and motherboard can turn on. Vcore (source of high side mosfet or drain of low side mosfet) is now 1.1 with motherboard turned on.

I still can't visualize anything on screen. Psu is working, already tested with another motherboard. I tried to reprogram bios chip but i think the version on msi site isn't correct (it is a file 280, should it be a .bin file?).

Resistance from atx connector listed below seem normal, but -12v is in Megaohm range. 5vsb is 3.75 ohm. Other voltages keep rising beyond 1 kohm.

I posted a photo of replacement and i zipped folder with a schematic and boardview of a similar motherboard (not the same version).

    Thanks!

HP OMEN 15-ce012nh give error code 5long 3 short after CPU LOW SIDE MOSFET BURN
      by questore
      Hello everyone.
Someone brought this poor hp in.

All power rails had normal resistances so i turned it on. Instant power cutoff...
First mosfet was shorted so replaced it...
After that I have tryed to start since no short was on the main power rail. the CPU middle dual mosfet heated up and protection shut down the laptop.
After investigating i have found that when the mosftet turning on then the mostfet got instantly hot (not the CPU)
Removed the faulty mosfet. -> now laptop turns on CPU mildly gets hot but laptop gives the common 5 long 3 short LED...

      Dual mosfet replacement help
      by DoOm86
      Hello.
      I have a notebook with a shorted mosfet, it's a E6930 GA8125.
It seems to be a 30V dual asymmetric N-channel AlphaMos.
Luckily the notebook is working, so I just need to find a good replacement for this mosfet.

And here is where I need help!
It's the first time I have to replace this kind of mosfet, I checked on mouse and I found this: (mouser No) = 512-FDPC5030SG.
I need your help to be sure is a good replacement or there is another with better compatibility, since I can't find the same exact (just from China).
      Thanks!...

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
      by Jane
I tried to use this method:

      Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the
