GPU memory vrm IC RT8816 VS NCP81278

Hi are these two IC interchangeable ?

I have GPU with damaged memory vrm controller,
The original IC ia rt8816 but i only have ncp81278 at hand.
Looking at the datasheet reveals that they are pin compatible, if it turns out that they are not really interchangeable, I am afraid it may cause damage

Therefore i would like to ask an advice
Does anyone have experience with swapping pin compatilbe IC especially vrm controller chips ?

hmmm you may want to check to see if they require different voltage feedback circuits, which will determine the PWM output of the controller in the end. you may only need to change a few resistors to make it work alright. also some have some sort of adjustability you want to make sure that those circuits are the same too

I have decided its to much of work, so I bought new chip instead

All differences relate to the connection of pin 9 - which is responsible for the frequency of the PWM signal. For rt8816,7J= this is extended to plus, and for NCP81278, to minus. By resistor..
At the same time, the NCP81278 has a useful diagram of the dependence of the frequency of the PWM signal on the frequency of the frequency of the setting resistor and the number (mode) of the involved phases.
