just got another from a local school.
they have rma'd it twice and evga tell them its ok.
funny it wont pass memtest with any ram i have.
they have 8 more that are quirky.
the one in the pics got polys in vdimm.
    this one will too.
either the ripple is too high for lytics to last here or these samxons were just bad.

Is there a reason they're using SLI boards for school?? Like CAD or anything?? Just seems a bit unusual to be using SLI school systems... I didn't think Vdimm had much ripple compared to Vcore really, but perhaps the Vdimm VR isn't well designed on the board.. What kind of CPU is on these boards??

Are we losing faith in Samxon capacitors?
I think the 220uF units should have been 1000uF units.

What is the quality of the power supply? I've seen a board with bad capacitors; some of them caused by a poor quality power supply.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.
