    VP6 replacing 1000uF 16V caps with 1500uF 16V caps?

image borrowed from a previous forum post by topcat

Can any of the 1000uF 16V caps circled in green in the above picture be replaced with 1500uF 16V caps.

Reason being I have some 1500uF 16V that are the proper height and width to fit correctly and none
of the 1000uF 16V that will fit in the spots where two caps are side by side.

    Cheers

1500's will work fine. They may even improve system stability due to better voltage regulation. It looks like it's mainly your VRM caps, and the AGP/RAM Vreg's that are most affected.

      thx gg1978 for the advice

its actually only a pic that I borrowed from another forum post that suited my needs perfectly.

I only had a few near the AGP slot and memory slots that needed replacing on both my VP6 mb I have, but as is suggested replaced them all and now have two rock stable boards again

Its good to see that others are still keeping the VP6 alive. I still have two that have been running great since I did the cap replacements. (OC from VP6board.com and TC got my two spares. )

In some respects, its better than my P4 3GHz machine. In most other respects its comparable....at least the human eye/brain couldn't tell the difference.

...then again......it might make a difference if its my brain or TC's brain we're talking about.
