Intel NUC 7i7 - attaching m.2 drive causes no picture output

    Hello,
I am getting a bit desperate with this one and would appreciate any help.

I came across a NUC 7i7 that initially had a short on the USB header "rail" (one of the decoupling capacitors). But, besides that, it displays a weird behaviour - if I don't attach anything to the m.2 slot it works great (boots into windows, etc.). However once I plug in an m.2 drive the computer won't display anything on the screen.

There's no picture, but the computer is still working (I can turn on/off numlock, etc.). This behaviour remains the same even if I disable the m.2 port in the bios.

    - I tried to measure the 3v3 rail for the m.2 - no shorts there.
    - I flashed a new bios that works on other 7i7 NUC. I also made sure to check with different drives, but all of them behave the same.
    - I even tried to plug in the drive without turning off the computer, but once it restarts the picture is gone (and without restart it doesn't detect the drive).

Can anybody please point me into a right direction? Thank you

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
    by FrancescoV
    Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
    M:1.00/11107BLP
    D:?.??/????????
    O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

**Need Help Unlocking BIOS and Hard Drive on Dell Precision 5820 Tower**
    by federalhouse
    Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.

    **Background:**

I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.

    **What I've Tried So Far:**

HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G2 won't detect a drive after reformat.
    by perfm2
So I've worked on dozens of HP and Dell laptops and have never encountered this before.
Steps taken in my usual process.
Reset security settings in the BIOS
Ensure existing HD comes up into the OS
Shut down the laptop and disconnected the main battery
Removed old M2 drive and replaced with a new 1tb Mushkin Temptest NVME drive. (I'm aware the bus is Sata III but the drive should still work at a slower speed right? Been my experience in other laptops)
Replace battery connector and close up the laptop
Insert my USB drive with my Windows 10 image I've...
