    Axle 8600GT Video Card

I heard what sounded like someone shooting a .22 rifle next to my computer. This actually happened several times over a few days, then the screen went black after the last 'pop'. A buddy at work told me to check the capacitors - I didn't even know what they are. So after a bit of time on the web I have found your site - quite informative I must say. I see there are a few others that have had similar experiences with this series - here's a couple pics for you guys to check out. I feel I can do the solder job once I have the proper replacements. Can I get what I need from you all or will I have to order from somewhere else?
    Thanks for your help!

Looks like you have Sacon FZ there - the most unreliable capacitor manufacturer on the planet.

It looks like they are 1500uF 6.3V, so these should work: https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=147

Replace ALL sacon FZ series caps on the card, busted or not.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Does that include that red topped capacitor as well? It appears to be ok - no bulging top nor leakage at the bottom but if it's a crappy product I'll get rid of it.

That one should still be OK, it's Fujitsu / Nichion FP-CAP (functional polymer).

Considering it stays very close to those 3 hot chips, replacing it with a 820-1000uF 16v electrolytic would be a good idea.

It's recommended to raise the capacitance a bit if you're going to use electrolytic capacitors, if you're going to use polymer capacitors you can probably go as low as 330uF.. functional polymer capacitors are something in between the two other types.
Electrolytic capacitors are cheaper than the others though.

            No.
But any capacitor that has "FZ$$" written on it (where $$ is any number), HAS TO BE REPLACED. If you have any other gear that has those capacitors, replace them now. They really are the most unreliable capacitors.

The replacement capacitors that c_hegge pointed in the link above should work great.
