    Missing video card capacitor

This is a strange and unusual question about a video card. I hope someone can help me out.
I had purchased a PNY Verto GeForce 6800GT AGP Vid. card second hand. This card worked excelent when I put it in. I had to replace my mobo due to a lightning strike. I was checking over my vid card and upon close inspection of my vid card one of the capacitors was loose. This was an easy fix. The problem is that in transport of the card from one place to another this capacitor had fallen off and is lost.I did not get any of the data off the cap before its disapperance. I have contacted tech support from PNY to assist me in locating a new capacitor for this board but they cited liability issues and would not help me out. I need to locate the capacitor in question and get a new one. This capacitor is located on the upper right hand side of the board and has a location designation of c112. This is the only thing wrong with the vid. board. All components attached to the mobo were ok and still function perfectly after new mobo installation .

    post a pic.
i tried google images but 200x200 thumbs dont help id parts.
if i had a real good pic and could compare relative size to one on a card pic i could take a wag.

Either that or simply overdo it, too much capacitance almost never hurts...

There should not be more than +12v either, you can always measure that with a DMM first, then just put a suitable Ultra LOW ESR cap in it's place, say 2200uF or 3300uF if you really wanna overdo it...

If you have the soldering skill about any quality cap should work there.
Keep in mind that it was likely one step down in capacitance value based on the pad outline size.

Looking at your pics and on a bad Gainward 6800Ultra bla blub i have laying around, i hink you should use an solid plymer cap. Either Oscon or anything else reputable. 330uF, 16v. If you can verify the voltage, you can use an normal low esr cap , if the voltage is below 12v. If there is 12v, than it is an input cap. Input caps on GFX are getting stressed by high ripple currents and temperatures. That said, i think it is obviousely, why i reccomed an solid polymer cap. The blue ones are probably solid plymer too. The outputcaps are not stressed by that high ripple currents, therefore any large low esr Al cap will work.
