    Dfi Am33-ec/el

Just recapped a DFI AM33-EC (Socket-A, SDRAM, supports Palomino Athlon/XP) - none of the original caps was bulging or leaking, but it had occasional memory errors and kernel panics. The PSU was swapped and checked out OK, and the temps were well within spec. Swapping the DIMM didn't help, either.

It had a sprinkling of G-Luxon 1000/6.3 and 1000/10 which I replaced with Rubycon YXG 1000/6.3, and a bunch of Teapo caps (>=1500uF) near the CPU/VRM which I left alone. Also populated two empty locations near the CPU with 1000/6.3. The memory errors seem to be gone completely and no kernel panics even on heavy compute loads now.

The suspect caps are a pair of G-Luxons next to the DIMM slots, which look OK but had a small bulge on the bottom seal and a faint characteristic electrolyte smell typically found on bad caps. It would probably help to uprate those two to 1500/6.3.

To summarize: it pays to always replace all G-Luxons.
