Hi guys, I have this project 386 motherboard and I am trying to save it, but I am having some trouble finding specs and diagrams for this particular model. It's supposed to be a Joindata G386U motherboard. As mentioned in the title, the VARTA battery leaked, and caused some damage, some of the components damaged are SMT resistor and capacitors, could use some advice on replacements or anything else that would be helpful to get this board to working order. I do believe that I will have to repair some traces. Anyways, here are some pictures.

remove everything in sockets and obviously the battery, then put the board and chips etc in a tray and cover it in vinegar.
rub it in with a paintbrush.
after maybe 30mins - 1hour wash it under the tap to remove all the vinegar and dry it out.
that will get rid of the alkaline from the battery - then we can actually start on fixing it.

So, I found my USB microscope so I could try to get a better look at the damage. The damage looks pretty bad, currently I'm not sure how I will go about this, as it looks like I'm going to need a desoldering gun due to a trace that almost under the ISA slot needs to be repaired or lots of bodge wire repair required, which I don't mind too much, as I am only really looking for functionality. Thoughts?Comment

by dhenionI'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.
The original board was:
ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A
The replacement board is:
ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)
It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...1 Photo -

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

I have been working on a no power issue with my personal ASUS gaming laptop. It went dead a few months ago.
Some history:
Since then, I've found a blown mosfet on the GPU line which I replaced. It started up without a battery, then when I added the battery back it wouldn't start up again.
As a result, there were some blown components around the BQ chip. (The BQ chip itself - BQ24780S, the low side battery mosfet (shorted), and a resistor -> all replaced)
Now, with a new battery the system will start up and run off... -
by HondamanA couple of evenings ago, my cell phone spent 6-8 hours on the floor of my car, which was parked on the driveway. Probably at or below 0 Celsius. When I took the phone inside, it was turned off, and the battery was at 0 percent (Galaxy S10 Plus). I charged it (wirelessly) without letting it warm up (yes, I know that was probably a mistake -- I probably should have put the phone onto an electric blanket I have).
Now, when the battery reaches something like 72 percent or 75 percent, it charges normally. Below that point, it takes 90 minutes to add 10 percent to the phone's battery charge.... -

I ordered a new one and replaced it. This laptop have a different chip for keyboard management and it8227e pins for programming ITE chips are not accesible through keyboard interface, I flashed it using i2c interface pins with vertyanov programmer because laptop was dead and SPI flash didn't have power (only 3v EC) so it couldn't access firmware stored in SPI memory. I read SPI and extracted it8227 firmware from original BIOS...
