My Vonage died!
I don't use my house phone often.
So yesterday I go to make a call... nothing. Just a little static.
So out comes the little VOIP adaptor, a Linksys PAP2 and the power light is blinking.
Check the wall adaptor, a nice steady 5.1v.
So apart comes the PAP2 and surprise! The Teapo Fairy was here!
1x Teapo SZ 470µf 16v bulged, .03Ω ESR, 42.1µf
2x Teapo SC 100µf 16v, 1 at .16Ω/89µf, 1 at 26(!)Ω/0.1µf
3x Teapo SS 10µf 35v, 1 at 0Ω/0µf,1 at ∞Ω/0.1µf, 1 at .21Ω/8.9µf
OK, so 2 out of 6 ain't bad! Well, OK, it is.
The two Rubycons were fine.
In went an MBZ for the SZ and some PWs and I'm back on the phone!
All caps were dated 2005. I probably got this thing around 2007 or so.
The Linksys PAP2 has 4 air vents which cover about 2/3 of the front and back. This should allow somewhat decent cooling. After all, the Rubycons did OK.
Shame on you Linksys!
