    LG Flatron W2361V PSU Troubleshooting

    Hi everyone.

I am trying to troubleshoot this computer screen which went black and won't power on after a power surge.

I have measured the output voltages and there seems to be proper voltage pressence on the 5V outputs, there is no voltage on the 22V outputs and I am unsure of what I should be measuring on ADIM, BDIM, EN and OLP.

There also doesn't seem to be any voltage on the backpanel outputs:

I have already identified and replaced two bulging electrolytic capacitors, and there is voltage after the fuse.

I am not sure how to proceed next. Any tips appreciated.

Make sure all the diodes and transistor are in good working condition and not shorted.
Btw, did you checked the middle 8 pin chip?

Re: LG Flatron W2361V PSU Troubleshooting

From what I can tell, If you have the +5v you should also have the +22v, both are supplied by the same transformer, so check the connections on the transformer and D201,D205.

I would start by replacing C103, C105, they are very likely the main problem with the power supply

I would replace all the electrolytic caps except for C101, it should be ok.

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
          by blues_spirit
          Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

OSD pops up, LG Flatron W2361v
          by Sraros
          Hello,
I have this monitor which OSD suddenly starts going crazy popping on/off continuously. After a while it may stop but for sure later will do the same.

1st thing to say I have disconnected the power and side button panels and continues to do it and
2nd when I unplug the HDMI or DVI cable and is out of signal stops doing it.

It's like sth is triggering on the main board the OSD pop up

GV-N2060OC-6GD REV 2.0 GIGABYTE video card troubleshooting assistance needed.
          by gcrezz
The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...

Looking for assistance troubleshooting a Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 with 3 LED Fast Blinks
          by CrewmanRedShirt
          Hello all,
As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...

Troubleshooting Old Chiefmax 650Watt ATX Switching Power Supply
          by Zippie
I’m looking for some advice troubleshooting an old Chiefmax 650w power supply in a PC, if it’s advisable to dig into it.

Worst case I can replace the PSU, I’m just interested in learning the troubleshooting process. However, it’s out of my area of expertise and I could use some direction.

During PC operation I heard a loud pop noise, like a cap gun and the tower lost power.

Initially there is no power output 3.3v, 5v, or 12v when jumping the power on pin to ground. Also, no fan power.

Opening the PSU the only things visible initially...
