    Gateway 1975w no power

Ok, So I got a Gateway 1975w in today, and found that it has no power. Is there anyone out there very familure with this monitor that may be able to help me? It is a different type of deal because the powerswitch goes to the video board, then to the powerboard. Maybe there is a micro fuse or something like that that is bad?

    Thanks Dobber

Post clear focused pics (after reading FAQ).

    Possible reasons for no power

    1) bad fuse
    2) bad caps in secondary side
    3) bad solder joints on the AC input
    4) bad main filter cap
    5) no secondary voltage to logic board
    6) on/off switch is bad
    7) others

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Here is an excellent post by PlainBill (post #8) on another "no power" monitor and how to divide and conquer.

If you follow these steps, you should be able to narrow down the problem.

Sweet, I will post picks if I can not get it up and going. There is no sign of any damage, but you know how that goes with monitors.

        Thanks Much
