    Apple PowerBook 160 interference/ghosting

    Hi All,

I have two Powerbook 160s where nothing seemed to be coming on to the screen. I have recapped the screen and invertor board with like for likes.

Both of them are now working, but I'm getting the kind of interference I would expect of a failing/failed screen.

I've documented as much as I can on this thread over at 68kmla (https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?thre...-screen.40029/).

I'm out of ideas and do with some help diagnosing.

    I have:

    - Checked with ESR the caps and they match what they said
    - Checked continuity from pad to pad on each replacement
    - Given everything a general clean

Interestingly, if I switch it to monochrome mode, there is almost no ghosting at all - it gets slightly worse for 4 colours and then really not good at all for 16.

I also have a general shimmer across the screen which suggests to me a dirty power source of some sort? I've tried the original PSU as well as after market.

    What would you test next?

A2141 Screen replacement. Boots screen freezes on Apple Logo 1/3 status bar unless connected to second monitor.
    by abajor
    Having this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.

I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.

The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.

The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...

Panasonic Plasma screen interference on left half of screen
    by Zelek11
My Panasonic Plasma model P55VT50 has started displaying "interference" on just the left half of the screen only (left when facing the screen). Sometimes it's concentrated in about the first 30 seconds after startup, then disappears. Other times it's fine at startup and then randomly does it later on. When it flashes the interference it's very quick and doesn't stay on the screen unless it flashes repeatedly in a row.

This image is a screen shot from a video I took. This is an example of the interference at its worst. Often the interference is much smaller...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
    by smic717394
    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Apple Watch Charging Controller Schematics / Boardview - 820-02601
    by a_p3rson
    Hi there,

I'm looking for anyone who might have information on Apple's embedded Apple Watch charging daughterboard, ID 820-02601. This is currently used by Anker in their Apple Watch charging products, but likely by other Apple partner brands as well.

You can see the board referenced in ChargerLab's teardown of the Anker Y1811 3-in-1 MagSafe cube - they discuss the "Apple Watch wireless charging circuit" about 2/3rds down the page. It's not pictured, but the board ID reads 820-02601-A, which sure sounds like Apple.
    This daughterboard uses an interesting...
