    A tale of two monitors

Coincidentally I have two totally different monitors displaying the same problem. One is a 17" AMW and the other a 19" Gericom. When first switched on there are just flickers on the screen of upto a half second desktop display (sometimes its only a partial display as if the video signal is not right or the screen shows when the screen itself is faulty). If you switch on and off two or three times the monitor comes completely to life and stays that way until you turn it off or the PC goes into powersave then the whole process starts again. If you turn powersave off and simply leave everything running the monitors never falter no matter how long they are left!
I have done all of the usual (ie caps, transistors, backlights, changed screens, re-soldered the boards and re-made all connections) and still the problems remain. I even managed on the AMW to fit a different power board from a similar type but not the same make of monitor and the problem persists!
What could I be missing?? Could it be the on /off signal or something equally unlikely

Pioneer RM-07 Active monitors cutting out from time to time
      by BigOof
I have a pair of Pioneer RM-07 monitors that I bought a while ago. When I was testing them I noticed that one speaker would cut out and I thought it was just a bad cable connection. At the price they were being sold for I was willing to take a risk on them. However, 6 months later and the one monitor still has the same issue. Most of the time it works, but there are times that the power LED is on but I get absolutely no sound. I can hear the relay clicking on/off sometimes and then it will/won't work depending on what it feels like. I've tried XLR and RCA inputs with the same issue. There's no...

LG 37LG5020 and the tale of 2 seconds to black.
      by DrankinSAW
I bought an LG 37LG5020 with a very strange issue.. it turns on, the display looks fine, but still, after 2 seconds, the TV shuts the backlight off..

However, if i leave it plugged in for 20-40min.. the time it takes to shutdown the backlight, doubles (to 4 seconds)..

I bought a new inverter, set to arrive on December 13th

      Dell 2007FP monitors
      by capsulej
I have a bunch of these monitors that all seem to have the same issue with bad inverter boards. Either the monitor will power on and not display a picture or it will display a picture for 2 seconds and then shut off. I know this because swapping the boards out with a working unit fixes the problem.

Apparently this is caused by the dell soundbars overloading the monitors power rails as they are of poor quality. I would like to fix the boards if possible but im not sure what to look for.
