Samsung 205bw Logic Board Replacement BN41-00705C

Hello, sorry i am new here so i hope i got this in the right thread etc.

I've had my 205bw since sometime in 2006 always been good until the logic board went on it recently. I thoght it was gonna be the psu at first but after checking the caps i was baffled. I purchased another 205bw (so now i got two!) and i changed the psu's no change, swapped the logic boards and sorted.

It's all good and well solving the problem at hand but i am having a real hard time getting a replacement logic board because obviously i got a screen here that's perfect but without this part it's useless. Samsung never replied to me about locating a replacement logic board and i only found one place online (shopjimmy) who had the part but no loger have any stock for it and told me they don't know if they can get another.

I do not think i can really fix the logic board as i don't know exactly whats wrong with it. With the faulty board in a monitor the screen does come on but it's only just possible to see, the whole screen is black and you can just make out a faint greyness of the desktop background. When i try to use the osd which is controlled on the logic board the menu's that come up are all stuffed just the osd box comes up with no text. After i attempt to use the osd it seems to crash the monitor as in the buttons eg. front panel power will not turn off and i have to hit the switch on the underside of the monitor.

I don't know if it's worth me putting a photo up of the logic board itself because there is no sign of damage at all.

The only idea i have had so far is this :

    206bw logic board

Ok 3 of the connections on this screen are identical. The big connection goes to the screen for the picture.

The power input is the second largest connection and is the same.

Then on the other side on it's own is the osd connection for the screens controls which are the same button configuration as the 205bw.

Only worry i got is the second smallest connection next to and on the same side as the power input ? It looks like the osd connection for the front panel controls but a little bigger. What could it be for ? Any ideas people ?

    Regards, Kenny.

Try this, replace the 8 pin eeprom with blank one near the big square chipset.

IC marked 24Cxx is the one.

Is anyone able to assist me please. I'm not sure what board i am supposed to be blanking or which IC on the board. The faulty board i currently have does not bare the code mentioned by wizard.

            Read this FAQ.

I've been ignoring this thread because the pictures are useless and not properly attached.

Wizard believes the user EEPROM is corrupted. His fix is to replace it with a blank EEPROM. Knowing Wizard, he's probably right. Or you can Google 'Samsung 205bw reset' and see if those suggestions help.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Sorry i did not know i was violating the forum with your image rules it's a just force of habit from other forums seeing the img auto code button in the posting box. I cannot edit my posts anyway because there is an editing limit on my account, so changing them to how you all require it is not possible. If my photos are useless then please just tell me what i need to do.

OSD image and colour reset if that is what you meant are not possible as the osd itself is corrupted. I can press only the power button to turn it on then perhaps one more button function which will just bring up the osd background with no text or options then the osd freezes and i have to hit the switch.

The EEPROM closest to the main chip on my 00705C board is the eight pin IC301 full code being: Pm25l V010
              E0636
              N23F9E

              This i have circled.

Here's an idea for how crazy the logic board has become. I done a quick video aswell the outcome is totally random everytime i turn the screen on and off sometimes i can get a menu sometimes just a flash on the screen. When i swap the logic board over as i have two of these screens now all is fine.

Well anyway I got 3 IC EEPROM's for the memory, dvi and nvram from rapid. Got them swapped in and no luck still. I think it is the main chip on the board, the scaler... as i cannot come to any other conclusion. I have ordered the 206BW logic board in a hope i can get that to work in my 205BW. If i have any luck i will post up my findings.

Well i am back to stage 1 again it seems. I got the 206bw board and hooked it up. The outcome was very bad i must say, i'm not even sure why the monitor reacted so badly to it. I guess it's just a no go.

                    206bw board:

                    here

                    BN41-00705C IC'd:

                    here

It looks like the screen is ruined but i took my other working monitor apart. Popped my only working BN41-00705C and yeah the monitor is still perfect. I found a seller in China:

                    http://item.taobao.com/auction/item_...302994a820.htm

Just what i need but i dont think i am able to sign up or purchase from this site as i am in the UK and probably not welcome. Anyone got any ideas. I've done what Wizard has said and replaced a few of the IC's just to be sure. I'm going around in circles here but i won't give up.

Hi. I now have a 205BW with a solid power light and no display - I could send you the logic board if you would like to try it before I dispose of the rest.

                        reviving an old thread...

I'm having similar issues with the same logic board (BN41-00705C), but with all my searches, the problem had been with the NVRAM A21SC (24C02). I was about to get some 24C02's, but after reading Wizard's reply, I'm not sure if I should replace the eeprom beside the big chip instead (IC301).

"The Pm25LV512/010 are 512 Kbit/1 Mbits 3.0 Volt-only serial Flash memories. These devices are designed to use a single low voltage, range from 2.7 Volt to 3.6 Volt, power supply to perform read, erase and program operations. The devices can be programmed in standard EPROM programmers as well."

This is where I'm lost.. the 205BW manual only has 3 eeprom chips..

                        IC200: A81SC (IC-EEPROM;24C08,8Kbit,1Kx8Bit,SOP,8P,5x4)
                        IC202: A21SC (IC-EEPROM;24C02,2Kbit,256x8Bit,SOP,8P,5x4)
                        IC203: A21SC (IC-EEPROM;24C02,2Kbit,256x8Bit,SOP,8P,5x4)

Unless IC301 is listed as something other than eeprom(?). The chip's definitely there.. just not in the manual. In fact, the manual has all 3 eeprom chips listed as IC112.

As for replacing it.. the 24C02 runs at 2.7V-5.5V, and a 2M memory (256x8Bit). Would it be good enough for the replacement?

I'm thinking of picking up replacements for all the eeproms.. just in case.

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...

Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
                          C57: 3.30V
                          C61:...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
