Re: Samsung 193v backlight doesn't stay on

I used ccfl's that had been removed from another screen, so I could see the individual tubes and determine which bulbs were not lighting up. I connected these ccfls to all 4 connections and they would stay lit so I could easily tell which lamp wasn't lighting and therefore which transformer was bad.

A couple of points if you aren't able to do the above test - you have to have all 4 connectors connected to ccfl's, or it will turn off. Try connecting 3 wires from the original lcd and one from the external lcd (always use the same connector on the external one - as it is possible that one of those tubes could be bad), and test it, noting if the external lamp came on. Then move the external lcd connection to the next connection, reconnect the original, and test again, doing this at all four connectors. Then you should be able to determine if one or more of the transformers are bad. I usually only had one bad per board, but occasionally there were two that were bad. Also check the board in the inverter area. If you have dark spots above the components labeled U2 -U4 it is possible they are damaged, and replacing the transformer will not solve the problem.

After working on this model I ordered a Blue Ring Tester from Anatek and it is very nice for determining if a transformer is good or not.

      Samsung QE82Q70RAT no backlight
      by sansanpartida
      Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

      My issue: No backlight.

      Model: QE82Q70RAT
      Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
      by Ierwin
      Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

      Samsung BN44-00807E Low Backlight
      by Warrensmith
Symptom is dim backlight - this set came in with almost no backlight.

      Samsung UN55JU6500FX2A

1 - Replaced all backlight LED strips (set had lots of hours at level 20 backlight)
2 - Changed out what appeared to be a bad Q9102C on BN44-00807E - not shorted or burned but appeared to be open. I was able to read (with difficulty) the part number - however I may have misread it - Can someone confirm that this is indeed an AOD9N40.

Backlight improved significantly - about like it would be set to a level 3 or 4. Setting all the way to 20 seems to...
