Post also brand, cap & series of the caps. Sometimes one can't tell a lot of a superior view of a board.
Make sure AC is getting in - check fuse(s) at AC in, or if it uses an external power brick check for a fuse at the DC input.

if it's really dead (to be sure check the PS output with a meter) the fuse (F101, the round thing besides the AC jack) would be the first suspect.

oh, and close-ups of the caps would be interesting.
the inverter cap up there looks a bit fishy.
aren't LXZ supposed to be blue?

That melted plastic on the inverter transformer looks disturbing.

If that much heat was generated the insulation could have broken down and shorted it out.

If you have two you may have to cannibalize one for it's inverter transformer.

Unless thats just hot glue or something.

its plastic i believe from the plastic protector that was around the entire board...like a thin plastic sleeve

Re: Hyundai 17 inch LCD monitor DEAD!!!! no power at all

With power ON I'd CAREFULLY check the voltage across the big blue 400V 68 uf cap. It should read about 170 volts (+- 20 volts). If that is good take a look at the 7 pin connector in the lower right hand corner of the board. The picture isn't clear, but you should have voltage on several of these pins. Reading from left to right I'd expect the following voltages

                    1) 12V
                    2) 0 or 5V
                    3) 5V
                    4) Gnd
                    5) Gnd
                    6) ??
                    7) ??

6 and 7 are display blanking and brightness. If you don't see any voltage on pins 1-3 (measuring from 4 & 5) the power supply is dead.

yes there is a 7 pin connector on the psu board ..so if i check those pins individually i should get some kind of voltage and if i dont i know there is an issue with the PSU

and if there are readings then the power supply board is ok and i have other issues correct?

by the way when you say carefully check voltages across the 400v cap what do you mean....i dont want to get shocked and im not an electrician or an electronics guy

what should i do and what do i have to worry about so know not to do that

                        thanks

pin 6 is the power return pin (0v=off, 5v=on --thus should be tied to 5v to power the unit manually.)
