    SONY PCG-282M No Picture Thread

Got this AIO (all in one) Sony Pc here, Visa based with 2gb laptop style ram. Nicely compacted together, not looked into it too much yet. Anyway the fault is no picture at all, no backlight, the Lcd does not work and the computer does not boot up at all.

So far I have tested the inverter and it is fine, there is no "backlight on" signal being generated by the motherboard so it wont fire the backlight but putting 3v to that point (using 2* 1.5v batteries in series) the inverter does come on and the backlight and inverter board both work

I tested the Lvds signals and they are dead, the Lvds chain does switch the lcd to open when the unit is powered up (normal behaviour if not you get white screen) but not further display signals are sent so probably the Gpu at fault

I will be looking into the more tomorrow, Im suspecting the Gpu as I said which is bga mounted to be at fault probably the solder joints. Will update tomorrow chaps any input till then is appreciated

Re: SONY PCG-282M No Picture Thread

May have better luck posting in the laptop forum. Dells are the only ones that i have consistently found that have fuses that are marked. Just had a hp that had the exact problem you are posting about. If you cant find a fuse there might not be one. In that case the controller chip is likely dead. If you find a fix though let me know.

Cheers buddy Im sure it will be alright here im sure matey I know what Im doing well most of the time lol, also I will take the Mb cover off tomorrow and have a look for some Smd fuses see if any are open as they can randomly fail at times.

The cover isnt going to be fun to get off though lots of little screws that are not magnetic

Issue with picture quality of Sony bravia TV
        by CyberPhoenix
Hello, Last week I bought the 50" Sony X80j tv everything was working fine, untill I plugged the tv in a ups power supply 650va the tv remote control became unresponsive and the TV became laggy after a while the picture quality isn't the same as before the tv seems less brighter and the picture is somehow blurry, people's faces don't look as natural as before, there is a mini orange-pink tint to the edge of people's faces especially in NETFLIX Dolby Vision like in One Piece ep1 Alvida skin tone, my intention was to protect the tv but something went wrong I checked the ups with a multimeter,...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
        by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

Sony XBR 49x900E - Sound and backlight on but no picture
        by DKWS89
        Hey Guys,

So a few months ago my Sony XBR 49x900e TV screen stopped displaying the picture but the backlight comes on and I still get sound when I use the remote and navigate to certain apps. I haven't checked anything with the meter yet but started with ordering some replacement boards. I've tried replacing the BMKS board (used from ebay) and also completed the firmware upgrade based on Nicks TV repairs youtube video. I've also replaced the TCON (twice) and PIB.

All of these changes have resulted in the same issue with no picture. I've also tried disconnecting the ribbons...
