As in a preferred resolution? It's hard to tell. I assume it was something like 640 x 480 as back then that was still commonly used.

I was curious as to their resolution capabilities.

Yes.

However I have concerns about the C synch signal. Searching the net reveals the c synch is negative going, so is the c synch out of the synch converter. Passing this synch signal through the DG541 will invert the signal to positive going implying that the VFX1 requires a positive synch pulse that is non standard. This inversion is stated on the original circuit you posted so I guess it is correct.

Seen that and almost every link is dead.
I refuse to use whatever info they provided as we already have nearly an identical setup (but differently designed).
We just need to finish these schematics and we will be ready to make a prototype.

Changes have now been made so that all voltages required for the project to work (+5V, -5V and +12V) now come in from an external source.
I'll take some photographs and post the latest revision of the schematic shortly.

The second headset, the controller and all the other stuff was picked up last night.
The schematics have been cleaned up a bit so you can see the lines better.
The next step is the building of the box and the system.

However my christmas vacation time has run out and that will have to wait for another day....and as soon as I have the money to buy the needed parts.
I'll report back once I have tested the box.

Because we have patched circuits together there is every possibility that there will be timing problems. I have read that these headsets require a TV video signal that has a specific line and frame rate that is different to VGA.

A guaranteed solution can only be had if the headset requirements are well understood. I suspect that the reason the bulky expensive modules were specified originally is that they do deliver synch and RGB at the required TV spec.

I am about to scan through the VFX1 info on the group site you recommended.

Take a look at this link that defines the problems. It seems the synch circuit we chose to use will not work without special drivers.

What I have noted is that is is said that PC video cards with TV out are good at providing the correct conditions. The snag is. How to split the vision to stereo? This is getting more difficult than I am willing to go at this time. You need better help. It seems many have struggled with this issue. I cannot see a solution yet. Sorry about that. Partiularly that you have bought stuff.
