    Hannspree HSG1074

Greetings, I have a Hannspree HSG1074 that works fine for a few seconds, but then the screen goes black while the audio continues to work fine. After reading various threads on this forum I believe I have a bad set of capacitors on the UA-3810-01UN-LF Rev:4 backlight inverter/power supply board. Does anyone have a list of the capacitors used in this board that are the usual suspects that go bad?

    Thanks!

I replaced all of the capacitors on the inverter/power supply board as well as the Bridge Rectifier but the problem remains. I noticed that the picture appears to flicker when it's visible. Anyone have any ideas what might be the cause?

      Re: Hannspree HSG1074

I replaced both inverter capacitors (35v 330uf and 35v 680uf) and solved the intermittent backlight issue on my Hannspree HSG1074 that I got for free off craigslist. Both capacitors looked fine to the naked eye (no bulging or leaking) and they were of a reputable brand (Nippon Chemi-Con) but after replacing both of them with new Rubycon units the problem was solved. I knew the backlight was the problem because you could see an image being displayed on the LCD if you looked at it with a flashlight.

        Re: Hannspree HSG1074

What drives me mad, is that the capacitors replaced are estetically perfect, also if you check them to read not only the capacity, but also other parameters.
        i.e. C237, should be 680uF, 35V after checking I found 700uF,Vloss=0,5% ESR=2,5 Ohm.
I can't consider it as a faulty cap.
What should I do? replace them all on the PCB, regardless their function/position, in the hope I can find the right one?
In the same way the old-school technician repaired old style tube tv sets replacing all the tubes inside?

          Hi,
i dont know if it is still time but i want to ask you if it is possible for you to help me about this tv set, do you have its schematics or service manual available?
If not, could you please help me to identify some values of the capcitors ilustrated in the photo i send as an atachement? I removed all the 5 in a row to measure them and i thought they were all 100uf but then when i got all them removed i found that one was 47uf, my problem now is that i can not know which place to insert this 47uf, can you understand me?
Are the capacitors inside the green circle in the image included at this link: https://ibb.co/bRZc2QK

          Thanks in advance

            Hello,
First off, how do you separate the bezel of the Hannspree HSG1074 LCD TV without doing damage? There is no entry point. There are lots of videos of other flatscreens showing you how to do it, but not this one doesn't seem to be one of them. The problem with this particular one is it will start flickering and then go black, with the audio still being fine. The video is good for quite awhile (maybe 1/2 hour or more), and will return right away after restart. Did anyone nail down why this is happening? It seems to be a common problem with this unit. The flashlight test shows nothing as far as the backlight is concerned. Thanks in advance for any insight.

              Hello again,
Does anyone know how to get the back off of a Hannspree HSG1074 LCD TV (circa 2010)? All the screws have been removed, but it won't budge. Does the bezel unclip from the back, similar to most computer monitors? The bezel seems rock solid. The TV has the same problem that is mentioned in other posts (the video drops out, but the sound is ok). If I can get the back off, maybe I can help the other poster that wanted to know where the capacitors went he was asking about. I realize these other posts are rather old, but you never know!
Thanks in advance for any insight.

                Hello again,
I finally got the back off of this LCD TV (Hannspree HSG1074), but the caps on the power supply/inverter board look good so far. I have yet to measure any of them. Most are under heat sinks, so it is hard to get a good look without removing the heat sinks. One of the posts says they replaced the two inverter caps, so that may be a good place to start. How many CCFLs are in this thing? If those are the issue, they look like a pain to get and to change.
Thanks in advance for any insight

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
                  by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?

Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
                  by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....
