Hello, I have a few monitors here that have issues beyond bad caps, which through searching the forums I haven't been able to sort out, so, as a learning experience, I've decided to tackle them. The first is an HP L1950, which goes into standby after about 20 min, a few clicks on the power switch usually gets it to turn back on for a couple more minutes. No visibly bad caps, and I didn't notice any bad solder joints. f901 showed 1.3a, f903 showed 1.6a, but I'll retest those two fuses again, if needed.

Re: hp l1950 shuts off after 20 minutes
Please add Country,Mains voltage, and measurements taken on the Connector to the Logic board, while the the Monitor is working and when it goes off, particularly the pin which is marked on/off,or similar, that activates the Lamps, this should normally be approx 3v Dc or more,in both states with a PC signal applied.Comment

Re: hp l1950 shuts off after 20 minutes
Hi, sorry for the long delay, holidays and work put this project on hold, but I got a few free minutes the other night to retest the hp. I'm in Canada, 110v mains. with an old Philips 17" panel connected, the lamps stayed lit, so I retested connecting the hp lamps on at a time, and discovered the bottom plug for one of the lamps (pink wires) is the culprit. If I run two plugs from the Philips and 2 from the hp (blue wires) it'll run for hours, albeit dimly. Is there any way to bypass the bad lamp and run the panel on just the other 2 connections for testing?Comment

by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... -
by RauniHello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.
My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)
Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).
Read also that we should test what happens if we... -
by baglaivladHello everybody!
Have in work A1706 820-00239 model. Originally no power, shorted PPBUS_G3H because of corroded C6403, C6404. Some water damage around this components, but nothing major.
After replacing this capacitors the laptop came back to work, I reinstalled MacOS and had no issues until I started to test Type-C ports. Sometimes the laptop shuts off immediately when some action with Type-C ports performed (charger disconnected or USB device inserted/disconnected). I checked Type-C port flexes, they are okay, but I cleaned them anyway. I can't see any signs of liquid...11-20-2024, 08:14 AM -
by advantI am hoping somebody can help me out with an issue with my Sharp LC-46D85UN LCD TV which is nearly 10 years old.
Here are the symptoms:
--Turns on normally, stays on for around 2-5 minutes, picture disappears with a pop from the right speaker.
--Backlight stays on, power LEDs both stay on, no blinking. Remote is not responsive when it is in this state.
--Power button on TV is not responsive for single press. If I hold it long enough, the TV will shutdown.
--The TV will turn back on again either with the remote or with the power button on the... -
by samuelphirikHi. I have a pre-owned Dell Inspiron 15 7567. It worked fine
During the first 3 days of owning it until Dell Update software popped a notification about a latest Bios version 1.15.0 and latest Intel ME Software update of which I updated. It rebooted and firstly, Upgraded Bios from version 1.8.1 to 1.15.0 then it started upgrading Intel ME firmware. After that update, my laptop shuts down without notice (Like thermal shutdown)
I checked Thermal Paste on the processor and the Graphics Chip and it was dry. Replacing thermal paste has not helped me.
Now I've noticed that laptop... - Loading...
