Faulty Dell E2310h LED comes on but no display

    Faulty Dell E2310h LED comes on but no display

    Hi All.

    I have this monitor and the screen flashes on with the dell logo then back off again with a hissing sound.

    I cracked it open and can see that the backlight comes on and when it does the transformer inverter makes a sound almost like static on the TV, this happens the exact moment the backlight tries to come on.

    I do have a multimeter, but other than diodes and resistor not sure how to test other components.

    That sux! That's later than my Acer LCD monitor. Good chance of there being a faulty inverter transformer.

      Ok - thats sucks even more because I think I just shorted out the bridge rectifier! Anyway the model number is kbp206g and I was going to replace all the cap anyway so I may as well replace this!

      But I'm not sure which one I need to buy!
