An ebay seller shipped me this broken tablet by mistake, and so I got my money back, but there are a decent amount of these seemingly in perfect shape but with screen issues (this tablet was clearly a return that had never been used or setup, so I don't think any physical damage occurred, also is a kids model so large bumpers on cover that isn't in picture) Is this a loose lvds cable or anything repairable beyond replacing the screen which would come with its own integrated tcon which is maybe where the problem would be?
The power on screens just exhibit the sideways smear, once it is on it was lighter image then normal for a while then after a few seconds started getting more Grey and there was nothing left of the image, rotating tablet kinda reversed the degredation by a few seconds and when you restart it it clears up enough to say restarting in center. I'm not an expert but it seems like it lacks the power stability to maintain the image when the image is bright white but on darker screens like when turning on or restarting it is able to display the image somewhat. So perhaps DC-DC related power issue in the board attached to screen. In a tablet like this there's usually just a single ribbon cable which must transmit the power for Backlight and the video signal? So I'm not sure if there really even is a lvds style connection?
Ultimately just curious if it's anything repairable, if fault is in the screen module. Most likely not worth it to replace the screen even if it was available since these are around $50-70 on ebay
