    Acer AL1717A LCD panel problem

Hi to everyone will read this thread..
This monitor was gave to me for free when i've sold another one to one person. This has a big center blotch made of switched off (or on?) pixels/subpixels, from this blotch starts also some irregular thick lines some of what arrives to the top edge. Those pixels are black so i think them can be considered ON since pixels are usually "normally white", by the photos you can see that this defect is visible also with monitor unplugged from all (OFF). From an identical monitor this is been powered with known good IPS board and video input board. The panel is been watched closely with an image or under bright sun light and there's absolutely no cracks/holes. What do you think aboout it? Thanks.

So the screen is damaged even if the glass is not broken?

        Looks like pixels bleeding.
I have seen something similar to this in two 30 inch LG screens, but mine showed up blue instead of black.
This showed up on both after shipping, so I thought that a plane flight may have contributed to it.
AND believe it or not, after running it for a few weeks of letting it heat and cool completely, mine actually went away
I have a 24 apple led with a weird dark area that is gradually clearing up on its own too
May not be worth the effort of trying on a 17"

My blotch appears not all black.. are the subpixels that are full black, some pixels are all black others are full yellow or full blue so there's one or two subpixels black. I don't know nothing about lcd technology, but i have one old lcd repair guide from Jestine Jong that i can read.. A 17" is perfect for me so it is worth any effort, i don't like huge screens..

i have read about dead and stuck pixels, there exists 2 methods to fix them, by finger pressure and by software, i have tried the first and the blue pixels appear to be better than before but the red ones are worse.. i think is a desperate case, i will sell the good parts and keep the ccfl for my future 17 inch spare part. Thanks all.

Re: Acer AL1717A LCD panel problem

              massaging the screen sometimes helps
sticking it in a small room with a dehumidifier running may also help ??
I tried heat and Ice and that didn't work as good as it sitting and using it once in a while, so I think moisture got into mine ??

Might be hard to sell of the working parts on one that is this old and this size .

If you like the size and style
there is an ebay seller in UK that has a couple, then , if you keep the parts, you can have backup boards and a backup backlight assembly for it for if that one fails since , as I said, they are a bit old
