Hi,

I purchased one of those units for a project and the BIOS is password protected. I was able to dump the BIOS (Insyde), it's 8MB. Tried various ways to clear up the pwd to no avail. Hoping someone can figure out how to bypass it.

I tried but it doesn't let me attach a 7z file, or a bin file. What extensions are acceptable?

Did anyone ever make any progress on this? I found a way to install windows 10 on these tablets (I can share if your not already aware how to), but I would like to run Linux on these as full windows is usable however a little much for the little processor, and 8gbs of ram.

I have one running Windows 10 LTSC, which isn't too bad. And another running Android (BlissOS). I also tried Batocera and Openelec, all worked great, so no reason that your standard Linux distro wouldn't.

Btw, the password is a simple 4 digit: 2019

No way, your a life saver! Just confirmed this does work. How did you find to pass? Random guessing? I was searching for a eeprom chip to try a hardware attack lolol. Happy I can stop that effort now!

The password is stored in a UEFI variable, I used this tool to view it: https://ruexe.blogspot.com/
