I picked up this monitor from a local computer supply shop for £30, advertised as faulty. Thought it'd make a nice complement to my 24" iiyama on my desk. Full HD 24" LED monitor, stupidly thin design.
I plugged it in and plugged a HDMI input into it but it just says no signal. On VGA it simply turns off the backlight after briefly flashing "Analog" in the corner.
I downloaded the firmware update from Samsung's website here
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ow...oduct/S24A350H
and ran the program. It updated the firmware (took about 5 minutes) and the monitor powered off. Turned it on and the monitor works perfectly!
Amazing to think this almost got thrown away and it's so easy to fix. It runs off a 14V 2A power supply. I'm considering modding it to operate off a 11.1V LiPo battery which my model aircraft use. Will be interesting to fly (first person view) my aircraft with this in the field - 2ms update time!
