    LG E2360 - LED Monitor

    Hi,

I bought this monitor on the cheap. It's just over a year old and has had a fault where the screen started to go blank after an hour or so. Now it doesn't turn on at all.

It has an external 12V power supply that is running at around 13-14v. It seems to be dropping in voltage slowly, not entirely sure why.

Does this look to be a power supply problem? and has this damaged the logic board?

    Thanks

    Joe

I am no expert but Power supply may have bad caps try another power supply. Sounds like it' over heating lower led bulb intensity. open up case and check caps on mainboard.
I hope you have an ESR meter.

I use a normal multi-meter and do the ohms test on them. The caps are tiny, not seen those types fail before.

But since there is no power at all, nothing! no LED lights, just some high pitched buzzing. I'm guessing it is dead?

Why would the 12V supply give 14V? is this normal?

Might be a good time to post some good focused photos of the entire main board.

That power supply should be regulated 12V switching power supply, it should not be putting out 13~14V.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Hp v193 monitor power supply board
            by penangit
Hey everyone, hope everyone is fine, I got an issue hoping you guys can help me,

I got a HP V193 monitor it has a E59670 now i got a few of these, been using them for long time now, however this particular monitor was blacking out for a few times then after unplugging and plugging it back in it gets back to normal until now its dead.

I tried switching the power supply board with another similar monitor and it works,so I'm trying to fix this power supply board I got some basic in electronics as a hobbyist.

            Steps taken so far:

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

            AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
            by wattage
            Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...
