Received this monitor, reported with '2 secs to Black',however that was not the case.It booted perfectly and ran for a few minutes before switching off,so using test CCFl showed that either both top and bottom were faulty(only one lamp top and bottom)or the PSU/Inverter was the problem. The lamps came on fully and then died in stages, like the tide going out,or a Footballer 'supposedly' badly fouled and going down in stages.Looking at the Board showed one of the Ballast caps badly discoloured compared to the others, replaced the 5pf 6KV and all is well.

by RauniHello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.
My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)
Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).

,
My old LG Flatron recently started with coil beeping. This got worse every day for a few days until it also started having power problems.
Now it also went off again after displaying the LG logo, then on, off again, then on and so on...
So far I have measured the power supply unit, which delivers 19.21V and should therefore be OK. I removed the circuit board and connected it to the mains plug so that I could hear the coil beeping.
During the beeping, I pressed on the coils with a non-conductive tool to see if the sound changed and to find...1 Photo-

by Curious808Microwave seems to react badly to anything fatty. At the mildest, the time display starts flickering. Sometimes, it resets, the display goes black and the remaining time is gone. Sometimes it zaps and crackles. Symptoms seem to be worse depending on how fatty the food is. Goes wild, dimming from about the first second of trying to reheat a strip of precooked bacon. A precooked meatball causes occasional dimming. It works just fine with no-fat foods.
Started a couple of weeks ago when I put in a small raw porkchop. After a few seconds, the unit started spitting and zapping, and I... -
