Will the circuit in the base from a CFL with busted glass work to test CCFL tubes?

budm did the opposite and used a good CFL as a sub for a ccfl. I'm sure he's tried what you're suggesting and will give us his findings when he see's your thread.Comment

The circuits in the CFL will need 120V to run and it is based on CFL lamp with filament type setup to get it to fire up instead of using high voltage to fire up the lamp with just the electrodes inside as CCFL required, so it will not work with Cold CFL lamp.Last edited by budm; 07-04-2012, 08:42 PM.Never stop learning

Your using a CFL bulb on a CCFL inverter output works because you shorted the heaters and made it function as a CCFL, correct?Comment

The filaments become just electrode and the high voltage is high enough to ionize the gas in the lamp.Never stop learning

I'm working on a Surface Book 2 performance base (M1032224-004 on white sticker) and would love for some help troubleshooting or where to look next.
The tablet when not connected to the base seems to work fine, but:- When tablet is off and connected to the base, it won't turn on.
- Connecting tablet that is already on to base there is a windows device detected tone (not sure what device), but tablet remains in tablet mode, keyboard/trackpad don't work, and windows continues to report only 1 battery.
- Charger white light turns on when connected to the base, but base battery and tablet
