Re: Can someone check this order list for Samsung 223BW replacement caps please?

Many thanks to everyone for this list. I just repaired my monitor using the suggested part list from Farnell. Cost around £6.00.

Farnell unfortunately still have a £20.00 minimum order for personal customers. More annoyingly whilst business account holders can make an order under £20.00 after a recent change to T&Cs they are now charged a small-order fee if they do. Fortunately a few of us at work wanted a variety of items.

A quick check of Maplin shows probably okay capacitors except they do not stock high-temperature 330uF capacitors!

Failed UCC and Rubycon replacement on a Dell XPS410, equivalent?
      by DXseekerMO
Hello, I'm working on an old Dell XPS410 with burst capacitors. I'm trying to source either an equivalent replacement, or a replacement that will work. It's been suggested to me to use Poly caps as a replacement, but I have no idea what to order or what will work.

If anyone has a link to where I can buy what I need that would be even better.

These are the caps that have burst:

      Board location: C8BV, C26BV, C43BV
      Brand: United Chemi Con
      Series: KZG
      Size: 10mm dia X 25mm height
      Impedance: (ohms max/20c, 100kHz) .012
      Ripple: 2800...

Recap motherboards :: Abit KG7-LITE and Soltek SL-75FRN2-L
      by Foetuss
      Hi all

Hope this is in the correct place.

I'm planning on recapping both motherboards. I actually already ordered recplament caps for them, where I will be changing out most for poly's.
Could use some double checking to see if I'm not doing something stupid .

Pictures of the boards are attached.

      Tools - Order of purchase
      by Hexram
      Hey guys,

I am new to the electronics repair game & have stumbled into some tools to get my workshop (garage) started.

I managed to get my hands on a low budget multi-meter, soldering iron, de-soldering gun, oscilloscope and a variable voltage/amperage DC power supply.

With this being a new hobby i am thinking of investing in some tools to make it a little easier.

When i get paid next i was thinking of buying a Peak Atlas ESR 70 gold.

I am after suggestions on what order to buy things because i don't have the money...

      820uF 25WV 10mm x 20mm -- available anywhere?
      by MrCurious
I need to replace two caps (both the same) on the power supply of a Samsung flat panel monitor. The caps are:

      - Brand: CapXon
      - Series: GL
      - Type: Aluminum electrolytic, radial leads
      - Capacitance: 820uF
      - Working voltage: 25V
      - Temperature rating: 105 degrees
      - Diameter: 10mm
      - Height: 20mm
      - Lead spacing: 5mm

I'm having a real problem finding caps of the same size. I find 820uF's that are 10mm diameter but 25mm high (which would put the tops close to or in contact with a metal cover when reassembled)...
