    Anyone here in Perth W.A.?

I have a number of LCD monitors with (for me) intractable faults, and I need to clean up that work area fairly quickly. If there is anyone in the Perth area who wants these for parts please let me know, otherwise they go into the wheelie-bin on Friday 10 June.

    Models:
    Samsung 172X, 710N, 940N and 943NWX

    Benq FP737S
    All screens appear undamaged.

    Tnx

      Samsung 172X - OZ980S?
      by pedro
Just had a Samsung 172X lobbed onto my bench, already opened up by the owner. One second of backlight then blank - wow, now where have I seen that before? <sigh>.

These use an external DC brick supply, and all surface mount stuff so no swags of through-hole electros to look at. No visible signs of distress anywhere.

The backlight controller appears to be OZ980S. Recall seeing links to a data sheet for these or a similar one - can anyone point me there?

There's also a micro-pot near the OZ980S which just *may* control the reference/threshold....

Samwha WB capacitor issues inside Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX
      by lexwalker
Had 2 units Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX monitor with random problems which for most of the time can't display anything (the LED keeps blinking only). Inside each unit were found 3 bulged Samwha capacitors which I proceed to replace. Now they worked fine. The issue is that 2 of those capacitors are not found in the official datasheet...

Samsung PS58C7000 plasma TV service manual?
      by thunter0512
Yesterday my Samsung PS58C7000 plasma TV made a loud bang and the picture went blank (completely black screen). All other functions appear Ok. I have audio and can switch channels. This forum had some discussions about this specific model. I first thought that the loud bag was an exploding tantalum cap, but there wasn't the characteristic smell. When I pulled the back off the TV I couldn't see any obvious damage. Unfortunately I couldn't find a service manual for the TV.

I got DoubleDratt88's "fast track guide", but it hasn't got enough detail to debug this problem. I...

VIORE LC-37VF55 Main Board Incompatibilty Issues
      by ftaylor74
      Hello all,
This site been a great resource for me in resolving some previous TV & pump repair problems, so I'm hopeful that the expert troubleshooting minds on the site can help me with what has so far been an intractable problem.

I have a Viore LC-37VF55 TV that I have been using outdoors for some years. Recently, I lost the video connection on HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 due to corrosion. All other video signals work fine.

I tried replacing the original main-board with a replacement, PN 515C2602M01, sticker TV:222-090228002-03-32-S-S-16F (on the Samsung Tuner Component)....
