Re: Sharp LC-60LE835 vertical lines
Thanks for the response.
I just double checked. I'm not sure what "loaded source drive data lines" are, but I think what you see is an artifact of the poor focus in the picture. Believe me, the lines represent red greens yellows, blues, purples, cyans, magentas, blues... any color you could name.

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835 vertical lines
I reconnected LVDS cable making sure that it would make good contact with the on board connector. No Change. Swapped ends of the cable aand reconnected... no change.
Connectors look clean and shiny, no evidence of corrosion.
Looking back on the sequence of events that resulted in this failure, it seems that the LVDS cable is the most likely culprit. TCON is also a possibility but less so since everything was working, and only two inputs ( LVDS cable and Power cable) were handled in making the original repairs.
I...

Sharp LC-60LE835 vertical lines
Hi all. The TV in question is one that was exposed to high heat-humidity conditions during its short operating history. I received it, and its twin from a friend who was getting rid of them. I repaired both of them by 1) replacing the main boards so that I would have reliable external connectors (hdmi, cable, etc) and 2) replacing the touch control pads, which were pre3venting the units from powering on. After the repairs, both TV's came alive and delivered absolutely sensational video and audio.
That was then. Last Friday, I was moving one of the TVs to its new home, (the mother...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60le600u No picture
Just an observation. The key unit may be a problem for you even if you get the correct wiring. I have a Sharp 60le835 with a similar key unit. The service manual states that it must be replaced if it is "defoliated". (I think they mean delaminated). Mine is a two piece board... one part with the printed circuit and connectors, the second part being a white, adhesive backed strip of plastic which sticks to the inside of the TV's bezel. If when removing the circuit board, you leave the white piece attached to the bezel (and it will...

VIORE LC-37VF55 Main Board Incompatibilty Issues
Hello all,
This site been a great resource for me in resolving some previous TV & pump repair problems, so I'm hopeful that the expert troubleshooting minds on the site can help me with what has so far been an intractable problem.
I have a Viore LC-37VF55 TV that I have been using outdoors for some years. Recently, I lost the video connection on HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 due to corrosion. All other video signals work fine.
I tried replacing the original main-board with a replacement, PN 515C2602M01, sticker TV:222-090228002-03-32-S-S-16F (on the Samsung Tuner Component)....

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
The East Coast snow storm delayed the arrival of the touch sensor board for the TV, so I am just now getting back to this problem.
I installed the new board this morning and voila, the TV came alive! In fact both TV's are now working. The control boards must have become delaminated in the South Florida heat and humidity, and could not convey control commands to the MB. Anyway, it was a very easy fix, and the picture on both TVs is exceptional.
Of course, there's one small problem. When I was removing the board (which is...

Re: Swapping Capacitors with different markings
Again, thanks for responses.
Discretion being the better part of valor, I heeded the advice from this forum and opted
not to install the underrated 140uF 125VAC capacitor from my 3/4 HP pump in place of a blown 70uF 250VAC capacitor from my 2-1/2 HP pump.
I thought I would follow-up with what has happened since then.
I went to the pump repair shop this morning to purchase a new capacitor that matched the one that had blown. As luck would have it, they didn't have a direct match, but offered...

Re: Swapping Capacitors with different markings
I'm fairly convinced that it is a bad idea, and with all the expense and aggravation I've already gone through it's probably foolish to try.
I have another 1-1/2 HP pump motor with a 35uF capacitor rated at 330VAC. Does anyone see a problem trying it just to get the motor started and until I can get my hands on the right capacitor? By my calculations, it will provide about 1/2 the starting charge than the original. Not enough to harm the motor, but maybe enough to get it going?

Re: Swapping Capacitors with different markings
Thanks to all who have replied. I did some math that nearly convinced me that I would be okay to use the the lower voltage, higher capacitance capacitor. It seems that both motors (3/4 HP and 2-1/2 HP require the same starting charge.
125VAC X 138uF ~ 250VAC X 70uF
But since capacitance is fixed, sending twice the voltage to the capacitor will double the starting charge. I'm thinking that may well damage the windings upstream of the capacitor.
However, and this is a big if... The 3/4 HP pump is dual...

Swapping Capacitors with different markings
Hi all. I hope someone can save my weekend. The start capacitor on my pool pump blew out this morning. The pump is wired for 230V and the capacitor is rated as 64-77MF at 250 VAC. It is a 2 1/2 HP pump.
Since it is Saturday, I can't pick up a capacitor until Monday at the earliest, but I need to keep my pool running. I have a second booster pump (125/250V 3/4 HP) that has a capacitor rated as follows 128-148MF at 125VAC.
Both of the capacitors were installed by the factory so they are appropriate for their applications.
My question: CAn I swap the...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
Tom66, the manual that you linked to has way more info than the one I had, including schematics for the MB , the IR board and a few others. (not the PS though as far as I can tell). So thanks, I think it will help after all.
From what I've read so far, the 5 volts on PD pin15 on the PS board is normal in the (deep sleep mode). I suspect it won't reawaken until I can enter "process adjustment mode", and I will need the new touch sensor board installed to do that. Hopefully that will come tomorrow. In the meantime thanks, and...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
Another thought... since this is a new (refurb) MB, is it possible that I need to load firmware to get it started? If so, how can I load firmware if the unit does not power up. Probably not an issue, but if anyone knows for sure, It like to eliminate that possibility.

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
Thanks, but I already have the service manual. I'm disappointed that it has no schematics for the PS, and no real pinouts from the system block diagrams. Are you aware of any other sources for these schematics. (btw, the link you sent was broken)

Re: Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
Thanks Johnboy. As I understand it, the 632U differs from the 635 only in that yours is not 3D. I image in there should be a lot of commonality between the two.
My Tv has a 23 pin PD connector to the MB. If I recall correctly, P1 should read 12V, P3 should read ~13.3 V, and pin 15 should be ~5.3 V. ( read those values from the board itself). The question is, does the PS output all of those values in standby or sleep mode?
Also, do you know the voltage pinouts for the touch panel board?
Thanks for your help...

Sharp LC-60LE835U No Response
Sharp LC-60LE835U
Greetings all!
I picked up two (2) of these big screens from a friend who was getting ready to toss them out. They were used outdoors (but exposed to salt air and high humidity common in South Florida). According to him, one powered on, but could not display cable, hdmi, or component video. The other was just dead.
On external visual inspection, it was clear that salt corrosion had severely degraded all of the video inputs on the back of the units, so I figured that replacing the MBs would probably be the first action necessary to...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all. Like many of you, I came upon this forum looking for a solution to one problem (uncommanded shut-down of a philips LCD), and having had success with that thanks to the the posters on this forum, I decided to to take on a few bigger problems. I'll be posting them as soon as I get the green light from this forum.
By way of intro, I'm a Army Aviator by training, mech eng by education and italian by marriage. Interested in all things fixable. Looking forward to working with you all.
