Just do the comparison readings of both HV windings, they should be about 3% of each other.

Well, I solved in another way.
I just reversed the transformer and tested the other two outputs and they works fine, so the problem is that component (is made up of "two" different transformer in one).

However, I know well how to use a meter. But I didn't know which kind of value could I measure

Thank you anyway for your kindness

Hi everyone, my name is Federico.

I have an LG Flatron W2241S with the 2 seconds on-off problem.
Well, after some tests I have discovered the broken component, the one in the pic, that should be the inverter tranformer (?)

    EBJ57534701
    EEL-22D

One of the two secondary, the one inside the red circle, is broken.
    Or well, I think so!
I have already desoldered it, so I can make all measurement needed to prove it is the bad guy.

The question is, what kind of measurement (with the multi-meter) should I try?

Burnt wires at the end of the lamps are common failure, also worn lamp with blackened ends are common failure mode. You should also recap the power supply-inverter board.

Just something to add about the W1934S displays. I was fortunate to bring three home from work that failed. What I found was for all three monitors, one set of lamps in each had gone bad or were intermittent. I was able to pull some bulbs out of a panel to test.

What tipped me off was a video on youtube. Looks like on of his lamp sets had a bad connections. My connections were good, the bulbs were just starting to go. Very burned up on the inside of the bulbs. It could be a sign of a poor connection there. I just didn't go as far as pulling the end off Since I had bulbs from the other displays to play with.

Here's the video link in case you haven't seen it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-Ge0qIlabI

At least its not open or shorted.

When you say you tried a laptop tube do you mean just on its own?
If you just use a single tube you will almost always get 2sec to black.

You need to substitute the lapstop tube first for one of the panel tubes leaving the other panel tube plugged in then do the same for the second panel tube plugging the first panel tube back in.
    Thanks!!! Thats it.

Connection on one ccfl was lose so i soldered it, now everything work as it should.

I have tried measuring resistance between pins but i cant get fixed reading, its increasing constantly. Should i desolder it first?

    Hello.

I am asking for help because i have same problem with similar monitor LG W1946s-bf.

Power LED stays on and light goes out after 2 sec.

    I have tried following:
    - replaced all the caps
    - checked diodes with multimeter
    - tried another ccfl from laptop screen ( 2 sec problem again)

    What should i try next?

Here are the pictures of the monitor board.

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
    by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.

I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.

LG 23MP55HQ LED Monitor turns off after a few seconds or flickers.
    by Rick_1234
    Good evening, gentlemen.

I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.

To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

    AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
    by wattage
    Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...
