    The big cap is bouncing from 171-172 on my cheap $3 dmt7 digital meter.

    I'm guessing my black to the outer black here and try the rest with red won't fry nothing? Sorry haven't done alot electric work. May have to have a beer real quick to calm my jittery hands down too.

      171-172V DC is a bit high, but let's assume it is good for now.

      Set your multimeter now to 20V DC. Check the connectors on the power board now. Use a ground screw closest to the connector for your black/negative probe. Then measure each connector pin with the red probe and report its voltages.

        PS. Use the manage attachment for your pictures. Also please gives us an updated version of your board versus the old board. Do not post pictures inline as they slow down the loading of pages.

        For best picture quality and clarity take your boards to a window on a sunny day, turn flash off, and use macro mode. Take a top down view of all your boards (front and back). Make sure the photo is legible so that we can read the PCB printing clearly. A shutter speed of 1/125 or faster will produce nice clear focused pictures. Try to get a photo that is 2000x2000 resolution or as close as possible.

          Getting a clear focused recent/updated picture is important so we can see if you installed the caps backwards or your solder work is poor (on backside). Either will cause the monitor not to get the secondary voltages (i.e. 5V DC).

              Hmm, I was expecting 5V, but 3.3V DC is a voltage normally found on the logic card (via voltage regulator).

              The blue could be correct if it is BL/ON?

                Found the service manual at (which will help tremendously)



                3.3V and 12.0V are the proper voltages. See page 34.

                On page 18, the troubleshooting flow chart says check Q3 for 2.5V.

                    You just need enough battery power to take 5 pictures at most. Here in Canada, there is only 35 minutes of sun left. Sunset is 16:35.

                      It's been dark for hours here but this is about the best i can do with my cheap older than dirt cam (fuji a200).

                      Where would q3 be and proper test method?

                      Also i was unsure on the 4 monitor plugs so maybe i had that wrong?

                        Nice clear photos, but most of us would prefer 1 picture of the top and 1 of the bottom instead of the quadrants.

                        Where are the pictures of the logic board (1 top and 1 bottom).

                        We need to verify that the logic board is getting the right voltage.

                          I see a few small caps on the powerboard that have a plus vent. Are those Nichicons or did you not replace them?

                              Any other suggestions? The plug i checked earlier are the one that runs to the logic board.

                              Not sure that is the right manual either. I'm still not finding anything labeled q3.

                                      Try measuring your voltages at the connector on the logic board as you try to power the monitor on, there is a possibility you could read a good voltage when no load is applied, but the voltage could momentarily go low when more load is required .It looks you will have to do this four times. I am thinking the 12v might go low.

                                          I would suggest re checking all the capacitors for poor soldering rock them back and forth look for movement at the solder pads.
                                          On the front panel switch, I would expect to see one of the pins go from a high voltage to close to 0 volts as the power button is pushed.
                                          If the manual that listed in the link retiredcaps provided is any close to being correct .there is a reset switch involved. It is listed as being U8 and is pin is connected to pin 7 of MTV312.
                                          I do not feel comfortable telling you how to test it, but maybe someone else may have some ideas.
