Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Here are instructions written from a different point of view.
Take a known good working LCD. Assume it has 4 CCFL connections. Number them 1, 2, 3, 4.
Take cover off known good working LCD and lay it face down on soft surface. You should be able to access the CCFL connectors.
Remove CCFL connector #1 from the good LCD monitor.
Plug in cable for potentially bad CCFL #1 into connector #1 for test.
Plug LCD into power bar and turn on power bar. Now power on LCD. See if 2 seconds to black occurs.
Turn off power bar, unplug LCD power cord. Wait 1 minute.
Repeat same instructions as above for each potentially bad CCFL.
If these instructions don't make sense, don't try it.
I have taken your advice and followed your instructions. I have uploaded a picture of the results of the 4 CCFL's. They all stay on for over 5 mins and so I ended the test. One of the ccfl was 15% pink at the end but still worked for the 5 min's as the other 85% was bright white as the other 3 (4 x 2mm x 475mm) So it may not be this that's causing my 2 second problem?
I have had the chance to re-photograph (in focus) the power board and also uploaded those images. The transistors/mosfets? have the no.K3615-6c on both printed on the part's,I have not re-worked these parts yet? They look good but my eye's are not great even using a mag lense light.

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Let's try this test to confirm.
You don't have to remove the Ilyana CCFL tubes from its housing, but try to CAREFULLY connect all 4 Xerox CCFL connectors to the Ilyana CCFL tubes. I realize the cables are short so you might have to "rig" up something to hold/prop the monitors together.
With this test, you will just get a white screen on the Ilyana monitor. If the Ilyana monitor stays on for 1 minute, we know it is the Xerox CCFL tubes at fault.
If we get 2 seconds to black, we know it is something on the Xerox inverter board.
If you put both these monitors onto a power bar, you can switch off the power bar if things go bad.
PS. That pinkish hue does mean that CCFL will die soon. So if this Xerox problem is solved, you may want to replace that one.--- begin sig file ---

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Each LCD has its own type of controller IC that monitors voltage/current to protect the backlights. The threshold between backlight on/off will be different. So it is possible that this one pinkish CCFL is enough to cause the Xerox to shutdown, but not the ilyana due to the threshold tolerances.

Oh yeah, don't let the monitors touch each other in case you short something out. One poster figured out that it was the CCFL tubes causing 2 seconds to black and then he accidentally shorted out the board.
I suggest putting something non conductive in between depending on how you got it rigged. See this fellow Canadian setup
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...t=10861&page=2
He is also try to figure out 2 seconds to black. You can follow along even though you don't have the same monitor.
PS. The photos are a huge improvement in focus.--- begin sig file ---

Yes this is the first day we have had a bit of sunshine, so I could get a decent image outside..ha! its August in glorious England,So what's new?
We have had all good weather up till now,So that's where the expression come from I suppose " It never rains until it pours"
A question? What would possibly happen If I reassemble all the bits (there everywhere at the moment) Just with 2 tubes or 3 tubes Just a thought...
A voltage overload maybe or what?

I have the ccfl's already detatched from the xerox as separate units? So no problem by putting the two screens together
I hope that makes sense
I will just unplug the Illyama leads and plug in the xerox ccfl's with a quick safety switch on/off and see what happens?

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Depending on the controller IC, it will probably shutdown due to an underload or overload condition. I think there was a thread to try and "trick" the controller IC into thinking there was a "phantom" CCFL tube, but I don't remember the outcome.--- begin sig file ---

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
I understand what I have to do regarding the next test
Hook up the ccfl's from the Ilyama to the xerox power board (so I am trying to put back together the xerox,,) I will have to rig extensions cables not a problem
I just have a bit off a problem at the moment though?. when I took the screen out of the xerox I thought I had images recorded to know how it all goes back together ...did I heck! They are missing. I have the glass, the lcd plastic with a rough surface (one side is shiny and the other has the feel of nodules I suppose they are the electrodes which goes where I don't know and a various amount of plastic sheets all supposed to be in the sandwich,, Huh! I cant find out anything on the net yet. on which order it goes in...worst case take the ilyama apart and see the order of things...I hope you are having a nice week end

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
I haven't replaced any lamps myself, but I thought about doing it for a laptop for one of my friends. After I saw how small they were, I decided not to take a chance. The LCDs are larger and more forgiving, but still very fragile.
If you are getting an all white screen, I suggest rechecking the cable connections. It is easy to miss one or not have it fully plugged in.
If that doesn't work, post back and we will try to get the Ilyama working again.
I thought as much, but I lost the plot, when I broke the xerox lamps so I will get back to it when my minds clear...Thanks retiredcaps
I don't know what price you could replace your monitor. And how much you are willing to spend on it but there is a company here in the usa that sells complete ccfl assemblies. It's name is ccflwarehouse.I have purchased single bulbs from them, but never complete assemblies. There tech support is very good and I have very good luck with them.
Al.
I have purchased a LG 22" to see me though for now @£89.00
thanks again all I shall return

Hello again
Just an update I have not had the chance to do anymore to the xerox and have found the problem on the Ilyama, one of the connection tapes (They are a laminated celloloid type material with wires embedded) that I would normally remove by pulling the white tag,has been servered, Oh dear!!! what a plonker I am, I hear you say...I cant see any way of joining this back up again? unless there is a magical remedy, I am flumuxed...
I hope your all well

by ManiackkHello,
Device: PocketBook InkPad 3
Mainboard: XRZ_E091_PB740-VTTOA-V1.1 / 2017-10-12
I'm replacing the broken microUSB connector on this e-reader, and during inspection after desoldering, I noticed a loose black SMD component marked "CT". One of them was torn off along with the pad, while the other one (marked in the photo) is still in place.
I would appreciate help identifying this component.
Measuring the loose component with a multimeter gives 5.84 MΩ in both directions, while the one still on the board shows no measurable...2 Photos -
