Repairing mini XLR to 3.5mm cable

Is it same with colors when I'm creating mini XLR to 3.5mm like on normal XLR to 3.5mm ? I already have 3.5mm on one end of my cable and my current mini XLR on headphones is broken, so I would need to solder a new one.

And I am planning to buy mogami cable with neutrik connectors and solder new 3.5mm on the one end and on the other mini XLR and that will be my new cable for headphones. But I still want to repair my old cable because only mini XLR is problem, and when I am going to replace it with new one it's still going to be in working condition.


2nd question.

And when I'm creating new cable is it better to create mini XLR to TRS or to 3.5mm ? I mean if I solder TRS jack I won't have to use that converter 3.5 to TRS, and there is always converter from TRS to 3.5mm even if I have to use it in some case.

Anyone have schematics for that 3.5mm jack connector to 3 pin mini xlr. I have yellow red and white wire from 3.5mm jack.

How about using an ohmmeter and see which wire connects to which contact on the jack connector? Y'know... Logic?

Wire colours are, for the most part, irrelevant, really.

I need some schematics what color goes where on that numbers on on mini XLR there are 1,2,3 labeled on mini XLR.

How are the wires connected on the 3.5mm jack? which wires go to the tip, ring & shield (ground) if you can't use an ohmmeter, I can't help.

3.5mm jack is factory sealed, the other end of cable where factory mini XLR was got faulty, to be precise cable was faulty, the part where cable is going into connector and I couldn't fix that because of sealed plastic, so I cut it off and got new mini XLR connector, now I just need to solder it.

I will try to measure with multimeter tomorrow and see which cable is where soldered on 3.5mm jack, I didn't use multimere for some time I think I still remember how to use ohmmeter on it.

Since the cable is between two factory sealed connectors, they could have used any wire combination they liked, there is no standard color coding.
One wire will be common to both headphone (-) speaker connection, one wire will go to the left speaker (+) the other will go to the right speaker (+)
The common wire is usually connected to the 3.5mm jack shield or ground connection, the other two will connect to the 3.5mm tip or ring connections.

Aren't white and red wire for left and right speaker, and yellow ground ?

This what you gave me is XLR scheme.

I need female mini XLR with 3 pin sheme to 3.5mm male.

White connects to the ground in post #10, the other two are L & R.
