That does'nt seem like it works right, so TEST EEPROM = PASS
    and EEPROM FORMAT = NEW
Well the reason the amp is not turned on is the missing +4.9V on diode 6306 (page79) amp lr on.
I guess you could lift the anode of diode 6305 and feed it +5 volts to see if the amp turns on and is ok. You could have a bad 7412 (hef4094bt)

Didi you ever check the voltage on (page 78) transistor 7253, base should be 0 collector 5 volts or measure on (page34) plug 1426 pin 2

Did you ever run the Service Test Program ? (page 27) and (page 28) various other tests, and run those two tests, the last one should reset to factory.
    yes 0V on E and B of 7253, 5.12V on C of 7253 and pin 2 of plug 1426.
Done all the tests, all is ok except for tuner test. If i press TUNER it goes immediately in tuner mode (it exits from service mode instead of doing the test, but with headphones i'm sure that tuner is working good, i can listen to the radio).
Done the factory reset, but still no audio.

and how i can find the fault?

I found out a strange thing when measuring pin 6 with the oscilloscope probe.
If i connect the ground of the probe to the chassis of the device, i got 0V.
If i disconnect the ground of the probe (and i leave it free, without connecting) it detects this signal from pin 6.
    How is it possible?

A lot of the voltages are marked so make sure they are all ok, the only one I can see that is not right is that {amp lr} line, it should be +5 and its 0 so the main amp ic's are not turned on.
That amp lr line is controlled by one of the output lines of ic7412 (page 34) and that ic takes data in to control the output lines, so something (microprocessor) must not be telling it to turn on pin 6,
Pin1,2,6 of IC7412 are 0V. So i need to replace the CPU 7415?

It looks like the voltages marked on the schematic are for normal operation (bottom right of page 80)
Do you have the remote? can you turn the Mute on and off?

It sure looks like something in the menu somewhere has turned the amp off
Yes i can turn MUTE on and off with the remote. In the menu there are not many options...volume is balanced to 0 for all the speakers.

so this means that the AMP is in protection due to a short or something?

looks like ic 7412 is working, Do those other lines change like the Amp lr on (pin 6 of 7412) or mute (pin 7) Those lines could be checked on plug 1410 also

Yes, both leds are working DVD is on when input 6CH/DVD is selected. SURR is on when you push surround button (surround is not available in 6CH/DVD mode)

On page 79, whats the voltage on Q7310 collector? Also check if the amp on/off circuit is working.

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
    by FrancescoV
    Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
    M:1.00/11107BLP
    D:?.??/????????
    O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Copper corrosion? Yamaha HS8S Audio 1 output only
    by mecha1166
OAUD Yamaha HS8S Audio one output only.

I have pulled the output board. Output txsistors are ok (only 2 main output). Everything measures the same on each side. Customer did not bring in speakers so I cannot go too deep. I did notice a greenish tint on the tip of the solder joints that connect to the COPPER output connectors. All 6 have a greenish tint at the tip - each side has 3 pins each. Anyone else have copper speaker output pins that corrode at the place on the PCB where they are soldered? I will try to add a photo. Thanks.

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
    by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

    Denon AVR-X500 No audio output
    by dicky96
Hi guys, I have this AVR-X500. It has no audio output but if I select some input (DVD) and connect an audio signal to the RCA DVD inputs, I hear a relay click and sometimes there is a slight crackling on the speakers.

I only have 2x 8ohm speakers attached to Left and Right front.

If I plug headphones in, the crackling noise stops but I get no audio on the headphones.

I checked the voltages marked on the connectors on the Preamp PCB (12V, 5V etc) and they are all present. There is also plus/minus 56V on the bridge rectifier on the main amplifier PCB...

Yamaha 2064 No sound but Test audio working
    by hemant_2222
    Hello Guys,

    Greetings!

Hope you all are doing well.

I am looking for suggestion on Yamaha 2064. The problem with this receiver is that it has no sound however when the test tones are activated it does outputs from all the speakers. It is working in two channel stereo mode but when you select other sound modes, it doesn't. The last time it had a problem, I had replaced the DAC
    PCM1681DBQR - IC263 and it worked fine.

Other issue with it is one of the STK ICs is getting more heated then the other one but that can be looked at later.
