    Denon AVR-X500 No audio output

Hi guys, I have this AVR-X500. It has no audio output but if I select some input (DVD) and connect an audio signal to the RCA DVD inputs, I hear a relay click and sometimes there is a slight crackling on the speakers.

I only have 2x 8ohm speakers attached to Left and Right front.

If I plug headphones in, the crackling noise stops but I get no audio on the headphones.

I checked the voltages marked on the connectors on the Preamp PCB (12V, 5V etc) and they are all present. There is also plus/minus 56V on the bridge rectifier on the main amplifier PCB (referenced to chassis)

With a scope I can see I have audio input coming into the amplifier on the DVD RCA connectors but I have no audio output on the ribbon from the preamp PCB to the main amp PCB. Again these are marked on the PCB (FL,SL,CEN,SR,FR).

The front panel display and buttons seem to work OK

So the problem appears to on the preamp board. Any suggestions? Anyone have a schematic or service manual? Thanks

PS Looks like the audio inputs go via a NJU72340A IC and I found a datasheet so that could be a place to start if no schematics available

If the protection does not work, then connect HDMI out to the monitor and look at the AUDIO, speakers settings.

No output on the HDMI - unless I need to somehow activate it

I messed about with the options to hold down various buttons and press power - and after trying a few combinations it started to work

But I have no idea exactly which combo fixed it but I think it was selecting 'initialisation mode' or 'displaying protection history mode'

Roland KR-3500/4500 Digital Piano. Crackling audio sound on all keys -Fixed
            by i_am_patch
Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

Copper corrosion? Yamaha HS8S Audio 1 output only
            by mecha1166
OAUD Yamaha HS8S Audio one output only.

I have pulled the output board. Output txsistors are ok (only 2 main output). Everything measures the same on each side. Customer did not bring in speakers so I cannot go too deep. I did notice a greenish tint on the tip of the solder joints that connect to the COPPER output connectors. All 6 have a greenish tint at the tip - each side has 3 pins each. Anyone else have copper speaker output pins that corrode at the place on the PCB where they are soldered? I will try to add a photo. Thanks.

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
            by FrancescoV
            Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
            M:1.00/11107BLP
            D:?.??/????????
            O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Cambridge Audio Azur 551P MM Preamp - No output
            by mediaman083
            Hello everyone!

Recently my Cambridge Azur 551P stopped putting out sound after years of great music. After testing with my Fluke meter, there is no voltage present from the AC adapter at all. I had another AC 12V 300ma adapter to test with (the original AC adapter is 12V 500ma) and so I did.

Unit powers up, but there is no buzzing at all when touching the line input cable from the turntable. I am somewhat new to circuitry, but I do know enough to look for blown/bulging caps. I only saw one that was looked ever so slightly puffy in the power supply section,...

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
            by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...
