Re: Badcaps on car amp.
One Time, I rejected to fix car-amp because bomb-bomb noise make me crazy. I've been changed since everyone was young once and do the same thing love pop music...
they all think their amp is the best one, the old-school one better than the new one, for me just a piece of junk, when I fixed the amp, look likes they found an old lover with kinda of sentimental feeling or you being back home A runaway dog has been neutered. Sorry, I've no words!
PS: Badcaps also happened on car amp, after change all the Badcaps, all four channels working good.......Last edited by capwizard; 01-13-2017, 12:41 PM. -
Re: Badcaps on car amp.
Did you use low-ESR units at the outputs of the DC-DC converter? My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.Comment

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by vlady carpHello, colleagues!
I'm currently dealing with an issue while repairing a Concord Infinity elevator. The microcontroller P87C51SBPN used in the control board has failed, and I need the original firmware dump in .bin format to replace it with a new processor.
What I've done so far:
• Diagnosed the issue and confirmed the microcontroller is the root cause of the problem.
• The original processor is beyond repair, and I wasn't able to extract the dump.
• Reached out to the manufacturer (Savaria/Concord), but I haven't received a response yet.

by speaktorobSo a while back, to deal with the fan noise of the old blower style shrouds on the reference cards, I chucked it and installed the monster that is a Raijintek MORPHEUS 8069, with a couple Noctuas on it. Did the job but quite unwieldy tbh.
Anyone know which boards would have a compatible shroud for it? I know the EVGA used the reference board but wondering if any other manufacturers did. I want to put something sensible back on it, but I'm having a hard time getting hold of even a faulty reference board for a reasonable price.-

by RhorkHello,
I would like to know the reference of a QFN-20 because the reference marked on the chip does not give anything...
PC Reference : HP Pavilion - 15-cs0006nf
Motherboard : DA0G7BMB6D0 rev D
Reference marked on the chip: AWVAIL
Type : QFN-20
I didn't find a boardview or repair schematics
Thanks in advance... -
by momakaI know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.
For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3591772
It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:
