I'm putting together a list of replacement caps for an old Pioneer SX-450 amplifier (late 70's model). Most of the originals are general purpose Korea Chemicon SL series. However, I found a couple in there which stand out.
They're marked as Nippon Chemicon CELL, but I can't find any info anywhere about what a "CELL" cap is. I looked on Nippon Chemicon's list of modern substitutes for old series, and that one isn't even listed.
I'm guessing these are an old low ESR series. They used general purpose everywhere except for these guys, so I guess these locations are important.
Based on availability at digikey, I'll probably replace them with either Panasonic FC or Nichicon PW, same as I've been selecting for everything else.
Is there anything special about Nippon "CELL" caps that I should be aware of? I'm asking too late really, but I'd still be interested if anybody knows anything about them.
