Oh, good, so it's as i first suspected - just making sure Usually voltage readings are taken with respect to (at least) the circuit ground, that's why we "need" the + and -.

Have you checked for DC on the amplifier outputs, as indicated in post #8?

ok there is a place on top of the board where I can check the prot. if I ground the black to chassis and the red to vprot I get 137 mv,red to iprot 138,red to volh -1.9. there is a point called hpground black to it red to vprot 134 mv, red to iprot 134 red to volh -4.9 .

isn't all this controlled on page 8 by q701? there is no output on jl600a on any pins.

What exactly does "no output on JL600A pins" mean?

Let's take this another way - what audio sources do you have available for testing, apart from HDMI?

well the radio doesn't work, the headphones don't work , what do you want me to check?
you ask me to check the output signal on jl600a/b on post #8, I don't get any mv reading from c to ground and the same for l,r,sl,sr,sbl, sbr.

Sources, as in INPUTS; headphones are outputs.

Nothing at all, you say? That's a bit odd, i'd expect at least SOME mV to be present - it's a bit unlikely all the amps are THAT perfectly DC-balanced...

Could you check the voltages, referenced to pin 3 of each amp chip, on each of the RE pins? Ie. pins 4-5-6-7 on Q6002/6003, and pins 4-5-6-7 and 17-18 on Q6001

                  ok 6001 with the black on pin 3, red on pin 4 =3.2mv, pin 5= -4.1mv,pin 6= -0.9, pin 7= 6.2 mv.,pin 17= 2.0 mv, pin 18= -5.3 mv.

                  ok 6002 with the black on pin 3, red on pin 4=2.6 mv, pin 5= -6.5 mv,pin 6= -8.9 mv,pin 7= 0.8 mv.

ok 6003 with the black on pin 3, red on pin 4=4.5 mv, pin 5= -4.0, pin 6= -8.8 mv, pin 7= 0.3 mv.

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
                    by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

                    Onkyo TX-8050 AV-Receiver no sound
                    by ai.need.help
                    Hello,

I have a problem with my Onkyo TX-8050 Receiver. I got it from aftermarket and it was just delivered today.

It doesn't play music. There is no real output from:
                    pre-out
                    amp-out A and B
                    phones out

The only real sound I hear is a humming from the speakers when I play a song from usb or select a analog source. And when stopping and starting songs from usb or switching sources, I hear a crack from the speakers.

I tested with analog-input, usb and radio.

I know that there is a common problem with...

                    Anthem MRX500 - no sound

                    Dear Electronics Experts:

I have the following problem I am trying to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, I have contacted Anthem themselves and even a local distributer but I am not having much luck. Also, I have scoured the internet and unable to obtain a service manual. The Anthem service rep has also replied that he is unable to provide me with any service documentation. I have performed numerous searches on the internet and cross-referenced a few other AV receiver makers (Denon, Marantz, Onkyo) and found certain similarities to block diagram...

Onkyo HT-R510 turns on and then immediatly off
                    by redbaron1007
I picked up an Onkyo HT-R510 that when I plug it in and press the power button will turn on and then a couple of seconds later turn itself off. When it turns on you can hear the relay click and then immediately click again and shut the power to the system off. I spent about 5 hours today trying to troubleshoot it and I did make some progress that may not actually tell me anything. It's still not really working and I'm not quite sure where to go next.

Here's everything I've done so far.

The first thing I did was open it up and check for any burn marks exploded parts...

WSON8 NEW Bios Chips READ, ERROR, ETC.
                    by feherhollo
                    Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
                    I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...
