    Bad Cap Taken from Marantz 2216B

    Here's a picture of a bad cap taken from a 1978 Marantz 2216B receiver. Receiver displayed the classic sound of a low hum after < 2 minutes operation. Will be replaced with Nichicon PW Series of same value (uF - V).

    Is that really electrolyte.... it looked like bonding material ... can u upload the photo of the terminal lug ?

      I'd replace all the electrolytics. 25+ year old caps are not going to work well.

        At least that cap lived a long and healthy life.. Unlike some other caps we all here know of... :-P


        Ironically, that cap is about as old as i am..
