"Welcome to the club"
I got one of these, faulty, a couple weeks ago, and i'm in the process of "deducing" the schematic from the board, but it might be a while before i'm done with that...Khron's Cave - Electronics - Audio - Teardowns - Mods - Repairs - Projects - Music - Rants - Shenanigans -
Re: Jamo sub200
Well, i think / hope i'm done lifting the schematic.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the current state - i laid out parts as close as i could to how they're laid out on the board, to try to have a 1:1 or WYSIWYG sort of thing, to ease my labor
Next step is to rearrange the parts so they make more sense topology-wise.
I renamed all the parts with their corresponding silkscreen names, and i filled in the resistor values. I didn't really bother with the caps (especially since the ceramics aren't labeled in any way).Khron's Cave - Electronics - Audio - Teardowns - Mods - Repairs - Projects - Music - Rants - ShenanigansComment

Re: Jamo sub200
Well, this is as far as i got. I *can* recognize some of the "building blocks", but some look a bit odd.
There *might* be a couple small errors (i can't guarantee the accuracy of the IC1B-IC1C region on the bottom, it looks a bit fishy), but at least for now, i've had enough of schematic-lifting
Hope it helps, though
Now i just gotta hook it up to a signal generator and try to follow the signal path with my scope. Hope i can pinpoint the issue soon/easily - the sub works, but only at a veeeeeeeeeeery low volumeKhron's Cave - Electronics - Audio - Teardowns - Mods - Repairs - Projects - Music - Rants - ShenanigansComment

Re: Jamo sub200
For what it's worth, the issue in mine proved to be the (cheap) pots...
No matter, i just used a couple wire jumpers to "skip over" the volume pot (so it runs basically at full-blast) and the frequency pot (so it's crossed over as high as it'll go)
Neither of those concern me, 'cause i'm doing the filtering / processing "in the box" (computer) anywayKhron's Cave - Electronics - Audio - Teardowns - Mods - Repairs - Projects - Music - Rants - ShenanigansComment

by rustinjustI've got a subwoofer that I've had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I've lost. It's a generic make of subwoofer, I can't see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.
Question recently I've connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I'd like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

by LEECH666Good day ladies and gentleman!
I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.
This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).
I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but... -
by DelicieuxzI get a faint, low hum through my PC speakers, which connect to the subwoofer in a 2.1 speaker system. The hum drives me crazy and makes me stressed. When I turn off the subwoofer, everything is quiet and I start to relax, lol.
Here's an audio clip of the sound coming from my speakers:
https://vocaroo.com/16HaryHwTx78
I recorded with my phone's mic right next to the speaker, and the mic picked up a lot of speaker noise over top of the hum. But I don't hear that noise in the room, I just hear the lower-pitched hum that's buried beneath all the other...-

by Xan03Hi,
I have this 2.1 Klipsch set where the subwoofer emits a constant whine in standby, in addition to a constant rhythmic pulsing/thumping. Only way to make it stop is to cut power. I think this thread mentions the same issue, though my set is not a BT one: https://community.klipsch.com/index....-bt-subwoofer/
I think all this Klipsch gear is using crappy capacitors. Is it worth trying to replace the caps in the subwoofer amp to make this go away?-
