    PCB USB to SATA

    Hi everyone

I need help with a Western Digital

    MDL:WD50NDZW-11A8JS1
    S/N: WX52D807LTRZ
    PCB 2060-810035-000 REV P0

I need to convert this USB connection to SATA. So looks like I need to solder a SATA connection but I can't find any schematics for this one. Anyone know where to solder the connections to the PCB or the schematics for this?

    Re: PCB USB to SATA

get a datasheet for the asmedia convertor chip
then trace the output pins to the resistors or testpads around the controller with the thermal pad on it

GIGABYTE X299 AORUS ULTRA GAMING - SATA PORTS 4-7 NOT WORKING ???
        by DynaxSC
        Hi,

I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

Best way to solder LVDS connector for beginner (and qfn) ?
        by corrize
Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).

I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.

I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
        See the test :
