    Need help picking 12v timer!!

I need a 12v timer that cuts on when 12v applied (when door is opened) and cuts off after 2 minutes even if he door stays open with the 12v trigger. And resets when door is closed.

The ones I see tend to start the timer when powered down. (Momentary switch)

    Thanks in advance

Ok. Received the items and they works pretty much as described. However if I shut the door the lights stay on until timer runs out. I need them to turn off when when the door shuts also.

I cannot find a setting to change that. Any ideas?

I need it to work pretty much like a car door.

If I open the door light turns on and if I close it light turns off. It if I open the door and leave it open the light will cut off after set period of time so it won’t kill the battery.

I had it working like the way I wanted without the timer and just a relay. Seems this timer messes things up.

        Thanks in advance.

From what I read in the description you have to program the on time and off time
But I could be wrong but should give you an option that is turn on for a certain amount of time and then shut off

There doesn’t seem to be a way to have the timer relay turn off when I close the door. So I used another relay and hook up the timer output to the new relay input and and it works that way.

Sucks I had to use an additional relay but it works the way I wanted which is most important.

The reason why you can not find something already made is because you parameters are not what is commonly used so you have to make your own you might have been able to use a machine safety relay but would have to been one that you program and it might have work for you but I did not mention it before because if you are not used to working with them especially the programmable ones it can be a real learning experience

I have used them and programmed them before and sometimes the instructions are not very clear how to set it up for what you are trying to do with the setup and how you need the setup for it to work correctly

Can you please explain exactly how you want this to work

Is it that you want it to time while the door is open and if was not closed in a certain amount of time then it turns off or if you closed the door it would turn off am I correct with what I have decried here or is it something else that you are trying to accomplish if this is the case please explain further

I can tell you that the car lights in my car do not work exactly like that how mine works is that when you open the door and close it the timer times out and then shuts off what you are doing is if the door closes you want the timer to be done and turn off

Lift Master garage door opener with WiFi capability application through your phone
                    by sam_sam_sam
I had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )

This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or...

WD Sentinel DS5100 (NAS) boot issues
                    by DeanWy
                    Hi all,

I have a Western Digital Sentinel DS5100 NAS system which has stopped working. It has dual BIOS. I bought the system second hand with an already broken primary BIOS (it rebooted multiple times until second BIOS was used).

It worked until recently. The system was idle in Windows Server 2012 and a BSOD occurred, I think it was 'critical process died'. Thereafter it didn't boot, it just sat there with no video output and fan speed at 100% (there's a proprietary Windows driver by WD which controls the fan, outside of that it always runs at 100%).

                    There...

I have been having issues with this garage door opener for a while first the range of the remote was a lot less and sometimes it would start to go down and stop for no reason that I could find and would every once in awhile to start with then it started going more frequently until last Saturday when I opened the garage door it refused to close so I cranked up force all the way maximum limit this did not work also the sensor on one side that has a green and red lights that are supposed to be on when the door is open and there are no obstacles in the way on the original board the only light that...

Indesit IDC75 condenser dryer not stopping
                    by notallbad
I have an indesit IDC75 condenser tumble dryer and everything appears to be working ok
press start button and it starts spinning
does it reverse tumble at periodic intervals
heats up ok (heat switch toggles between high and low heat and working ok)
timer switch rotates as time passes by

However, there is one issue, it does not switch off when the timer goes back to "0', or 'off' if you like. Just keeps going. It will only stop if the door is opened, then closing the door requires the 'start' button to be pressed again to get it started.

                    I...

Linear Garage Door Opener Control Board Repair weak capacitors
                    by sam_sam_sam
I was having issues with the controller not always responding to remote control signal having to hold button until garage door started to move

Now after replacing the two capacitors on the two 5 volt power supply rails

One is used for the up/down limit up/down force circuits

Second one is used for the radio receiver circuit

The main filtering capacitor ESR value was a little higher than a new one
